As an Australian based palace fan it was great to see Aaron Mooy linked to a move to Palace .

He's been a revelation for Huddersfield Town this season , but Aussies have been tracking his progress for a while . He had an unsuccessful go in Scotland early in his career but was recruited by Tony Popovic when he was the first coach of western Sydney wanderers .

Highly skilful player , full of running , who can take on an beat a player but his main strength is his through balls . A bit like yohan C .

Very good box to box midfielder , who is creative but also puts in the hard work defensively .

Fingers crossed .

Cliff

Didn't Man City just buy him and loan him back to Huddersfield in January? I imagine if he went to Aus it would be to Melbourne City who are sistered with Man C.

Yep

But he won't be coming to Oz anytime soon .

City bought him and loaned him out to Town where he has been their player of the season and championship team of the year .

Question will be if City want to see how he goes with them of whether they're happy to make a ten mill profit . Personally from an Australian view point I'd prefer to see him else where , so he's more likely to get regular game time .

Australians have a good track record at palace and IMHO Mooy is step up , certainly in terms of creativity .

Check out his penalty in Towns play off win over Sheffield .

Goalie goes the right way , but comfortably beats him .

I watched him last night in the play-offs.

Yes, a powerful penalty and he had a some nice touches, especially the ball through to Wells (who should have scored).

To me though, he lacks pace to work a shift in the premier league. He would never run away from a player but more importantly, he needed to get back quickly he would struggle.

I wouldn't say that Cabaye is unbelievably quick. A lot can be done on the pitch with movement, quick thinking and a solid pass, you don't always need to be Usain Bolt.

Remember that he will always have others around him to be the speed freaks in a Palace shirt...

Mooy's not in the same class as Zaha speed wise ( very few are ...) , but he's not slow like Jedinak. I'd think he'd be in the same group as Cabaye and Puncheon pace wise.

Defensively he's a terrier, but it's his distribution and ability to hold the ball that put him up there .

I'm hoping they have coverage of the championship playoff decider in Sydney. That will be his final "
Audition " to see where he plays next year and also how much he's worth.

Two weeks down and he's looking pretty good so far .

Torn emotions in week one . My club against one of my favourite players .

I was hoping for MOM for Mooy valiant in a defeat against palace .

Got one .....☹️

Scored a very good goal today with his right-foot from the edge of the area. Although right-footed I have seen him shoot with his left-foot from outside the box.

If I am not mistaken, Huddersfield signed him for £8 mill rising to £10 Mill.Looks like money well spent.

One story that did the rounds about Aaron a couple of years ago occurred when he was a youngster .

His new coach saw him driving the ball against a wall with his left foot . Coach said you should spend some time practicing with you weak foot . Reply . That is my weak foot .

When town won promotion I would have been surprised if he went anywhere else .

I suppose it's ok to have Town as the my " second " team .

Couldn't do that with another Aussie ( Maty Ryan ) who's moved to the premier league ....

At Brighton ..... he's had a much rockier start to his campaign .
