My partner has surprised me with a trip this weekend for 4 nights to Valencia and to see Valencia play, as i haven't been part of the planning and she has no idea at all about football, i was wondering if anyone has any tips for the match on Sunday? places to visit, we have tickets already. stadium tour any good?

Also if anyone has been before have they got any tips on where to go?

we are staying at Malcom and Barrett by any chance someone knows it or has stayed there ?

I was in Valencia way back in 2005, but went to a really great restaurant called La Pepica.

It's been around for about 120 years, and it sits right at the end of Valencia beach. Infact, the Spanish royalty have frequented the place.

If you go the back of the restaurant there is wall of all the notable people that have dined there. Most were Spanish, so not sure about them although I did spot the two fellas from Los Del Rios (they sang Macarena, and I hate that I know that).

It didn't seem mega expensive when I was there, although the exchange would have been better then.

There used to be a river running through the city. It has been diverted and is now a park. Walk through that and you get to an arts and science part with museums and an aquarium. Worth the walk for buildings alone. (Recent Dr Who episode filmed there.)

Oh and eat Paella!

In the old part of the city you will be see door knobs on big old doors that even Peter Crouch couldn't reach.

I will leave it to you to work out why?

Oh, and Agua De Valencia. Try it. Delicious.

Was there for a stag last weekend. Can recommend against being thrown in a ring with a bull. Flashy bar/beach club called Marina beach club with stuck up bouncers, a pool and sexy people. Nice paella at Pepica. Sea is still frigging cold. Worth giving that a skip if you don't want your testicles to turn into ovaries.

cheers all returned yesterday, walked through the park and when to see the arts and culture buildings, there unreal. aquarium was pretty good too.

tbh i found it really cheap i would say, unfortunately the restaurant mentioned was full but few doors down was decent to, thank you tho.

the match was odd in atmosphere, they just whistle, hiss and boo (there own players a lot of the time). the ground was prob my favorite I've visited after Selhurst of course.

if anyone is tempted to visit i would highly recommend the hotel Malcolm and Barrett. just be prepared to walk we probably done around 8 miles a day i recon.
