No. Too expensive. Glen Murray would score as many for Man City when they're blitzing the box.

They're more about creating space and utilising it than blitzing the box.

£25m for a very young proven Premiership goal scorer... Expensive??

The deal massively favours city. He's s*** we lose big money on him. If he's great then we can only sell him for 30m after developing for say 2 years. Also doesn't fit the starting 11, much prefer investing in a quality number 10 like Ziyech for example.

I don't know him but it does make sense. And I'd agree £30m buy back is a bit cheap!

I'm not denying he a talent but with FDB favouring 433. Is he realistically gonna get in ahead of Benteke. I doubt it. We will buy a striker but I doubt we pay 20-25m for one. We're not Chelsea that can have 4 strikers at 20m each. I'd say max we pay for a 2nd/3rd choice striker is 15m.

Nothing wrong with our forward line unless Benteke gets injured in which case you need another Benteke (like Wickham when fit), not Kelechi. Watch kelechi's youtubes: he's a poacher who CAN miss. As for him being a 'proven' PL striker I'd like to see how he'll do at a lower club like Defoe does. So, IMO, not worth the risk.

Yeah I should probably agree with that. Makes perfect sense.

I just think he's a cracking talent and have always rated him. £25m is a lot of $$$$ but he's so young and would compliment our attack as he's different to Wickham and Benteke. It's a lot but when considering some of the money thrown around I think it's good value.

I must say I don't like the sound of £30m buy back clause and would rather this was a 50% stake in a future sell on figure, over what we pay. But I'm sure if we did sign him then Parish would agree a decent clause that doesn't mean we get completely shafted.

Is he to much? I doubt Benteke is going to be fit for the whole season and is Wickham good enough to fill in? Assuming Wickhams fit..?

We need a second striker as to me Wickham can only be considered a third choice considering his fitness issues.

£25m for a proven talented striker who will be ok at siting on the bench as he's still young.

Age means his value should only rise unless he's bang average and I simply don't think that's the case.

Although some have said he is, I'm still waiting to see all these misses.

Link above compares Rashford and Iheanacho.

Anyway he's a huge talent IMO. Can we afford him? Probably not. Is the buy back clause bad. Yes. will we sign him? I doubt it.

Very good post. . It depends how de Boer wants to set up the team. Iheanacho would take a huge chunk out of the rumoured £40 m. Maybe it would be better to go for a young goalscoring midfielder, who could add goals from midfield? This would leave us exposed up front if Benteke and Wickham got injured, and I am not sure in any case when Wickham will be recovered and match fit

Yes it's a tricky one and really if we do go for him it's only becuase FdB can bag the other players he wants at decent prices and within budget.

RB, CB, AM all need to be strengthened first.

But you know sometimes when a player pops up on the market, you wasn't interested in that position but it actually makes sense to get him in the bigger picture. I think Iheanacho falls in to this category.

(If the deal makes sense)

Never gonna spend 20 m on a player that could be a reserve. Would love us to use majority of the budget on attacking mid and decent cb.
