I would like to finish the season with the same manager that we start with.
If we take away the top seven then that leaves 12 other teams in our league. We need to take 3 points off those teams that gives us 36 points as a base target.
Then look for the remainder of the points against the bottom clubs.
This season, to allow Burnley and Swansea to do the double over us caused us to need wins where we had no right to expect anything.
So next season I would like us to make sure that we manage to beat those 12 teams on aggregate as such.

Realistic expectation would be 9tb - 14th with a bit of consistency thrown in.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

No relegation problems faster football and another Benteke type signing. 40pts is always the first target for clubs of our size.

My expectations for next season? Same as every season. We keep our best players, strengthen the squad, and improve on the previous season. It usually doesn't happen though. Not that it hasn't ever improved in the past, but it's not something I'm used to. So I imagine another season like the last four.

By the way, when did all the "entitled" fans turn up?

I would be ok with avoiding relegation but I can't see Zaha and other top players staying more than another season if that's gonna be our lot for the next few seasons.

Much as I would miss those players it would give us a chance to implement a more sustainable wage structure which would be much better for the long term future of the club. At the moment something like 4/5 of our turnover is going on wages. Southampton and Tottenham should be our aim in terms of how we're run.

Spurs are a few years ahead of us.!!

Very much my thinking as well.

The best we can hope for, ever, given the size of our club is a finish in the top 8 and even that might prove insurmountable and might not be achieved in my lifetime.Top half finish next season, free of any real relegation fears will be really good for us.

you about 100 then ?

Not to fear relegation at any point; improve league position in the process; challenge in a cup again.

Obviously improving the squad goes with this.
