Jason Burt of Telegraphy reporting that he's finished with management said to be 'leaving on a high' supposedly. Funny that the last question asked in his post-match conference after Man United was on how long he'll continue managing for, his reply: "dunno, until I wake up one day and say I've had enough"

The Telegraph is saying that there will be a club statement later, but that there is no disagreement with Parish, just that Sam wants to step down:

I had a bad feeling about this ... However, Allardyce was right to seek early assurance about funding to reinforce the team. No good prolonging the scenario and being let down by prevarications over the summer. He's fulfilled his short-term objective and wanted a good clear out to take the team further. At the end of the day, we're a small club trying to survive in the big time. It's hard!

If he's genuinely had enough of football then fair enough. No point staying on if your hearts not in it. One thing he cannot accuse Parish of is not backing him. £40m in January for a club like Palace is a huge statement. We've been here before. We dealt with it then and we will deal with it again.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
