Nah.

I agree and i knew someone would mention it, quite rightly, always rumours about him letting it go to the wire to maximize profits.

Thing is, that's good business, it isn't always 'morally' right, Jordan complained and still feels bitter it seems, but it is like that, cut throat. As we all know.

I think with parish, he has been here a while, but there is something about him, i cannot pin point, or describe that makes me feel unsure of him - it could just be listening to rumours and what not, but i do honestly feel he is a businessman first, fan second, a very close second.

Where as the rest, you kinda admired their naivety in being a fan first - but look how it ended up.

That has long been my view too. He did rescue the club and put money into it but it was all fully secured so that if the project went tits up he would get his money back.

His investment has made him a much richer man than he already was and to top it all he gets paid £600,000 plus per year for being chairman which to put it into a different context is about the same as 30 nurses

I agree with you and the post to which you responded. Promotion clearly sweetened the deal, but the original four weren't slow to cash out some of their profit, which is fine, but to portray Parish as an altruistic white knight (in the Tony Bloom mould) is way off the mark.

If Parish were to sell out his share tomorrow, what would be his legacy? Nothing of significance has been done with the club's infrastructure and nor would it seem that anything will be for the foreseeable future. He's been able to get the right managers in at the right time to save our arse, but two walked unexpectedly and the other one took leave of his senses. He's been good at managing the cash, albeit we've obtained credit secured against our future TV income. He's been a good chairman so far, but not yet one of the greats.

30 nurses or less than a lowly squad player earns is a better context. I fail to see why Parish is constantly knocked on here, we all know he is a businessman and a successful one at that. Jordan drove the club into the ground, he got lucky with his phone shops, but showed he couldn't run a football club. It's not an easy job.

Maybe a team of 30 nurses would have hired a new manager by now. It's getting ridiculous now.

My wife is a nurse and I'm sure that she and her colleagues would have gone for Marco Silva as he's the best looking from the prospect list

Whilst I agree with the vast majority of this - that last sentence, I think, doesn't do him complete justice - he's certainly the best chairman we've had since I've been a Palace fan (Noades onwards).

What benchmark are you setting as "great" - & billionaires who've made their dough out of fleecing their nation's natural resources don't count in my book.

The problem with infrastructure investment is that Palace - like a lot of clubs similarly sized - don't have the cash to improve infrastructure without the riches of Premiership status BUT that status itself then triggers a "NHS-type" drain on revenue - because any manager worth his salt is going to demand an ever- increasing war chest in order to "compete".

I feel a bit sorry for SP - I think he wants to improve the infrastructure, but the reality is that there is no spare £££ once the playing squad investment requirements of staying in the prem are deducted.

It always makes me smile to see fans here who think parish is beyond any reproach. He was instrumental in saving this football club from the abyss, and this cannot be forgotten ever, but it doesn't give the guy a blank cheque to do anything without people engaging in what this entire site is supposed to be about - debate of his actions and anyone else holding the keys to this club's success. Why could pulis have long and successful relationships with other chairman but not parish? I get he is a massive tool and a total liar but why did that side of him not come out at stoke? Why did allardyce out of the blue, decide to end his entire career? Who else would have hired warlock? Who else would have not fired Holloway, the guy had to beg to leave the club. Something fishy is going on with parish and his relationships with managers, and is anyone aware that this might mean managing our club is becoming less and less attractive? Now we are more than 3 weeks since SA left and still no manager. Transfers are happening at other clubs and we are on hold. This is unsettling certain players too no doubt and its just schoolboy stuff to take this long to hire a manager. Do other clubs take 3 weeks plus to make a hire?

I presume this is intended as a wind up?

If not, where would you like to start? Maybe we'll go chronologically then:

Pulis has had a reputation for years & every club he's been at where he didn't get his own way he's left under a financial cloud - just ask Gillingham, Portsmouth or Bristol City fans. He really isn't the 'nice chap' his cronies in the media would like to portray him as - two different judges have confirmed this.

Pardew was next & here we have a situation where a large number of fans are adamant SP wasn't involved enough & gave him far too long due to (what turned out to be) a misguided sense of loyalty.

Sam was brought in as he was the right man for the job at hand. The length of the contract enabled the Club time needed to rebuild both at the front end and behind the scenes. I happen to believe the (published) story that the loss of a close friend was the cause of his change of heart and I fully support his decision on that basis.

It is improbable that SP could have foreseen Sam going, especially as Sam had stated in one of his last interviews that transfers were already targeted and a list agreed - his resignation meeting was originally intended to prioritise those & agree a plan of action.

SP is far from perfect but I can't think of another EPL chairman I'd want at Palace & all this 'controlling ' stuff seems pure speculation despite evidence to the contrary.

We'd all like to have a manager appointed & be all over transfers but having the right man and a plan is critical.

You are bang on which begs the question what is the point of us being in the super-rich Prem beyond seeing better players at Selhurst? Because as sure as Theresa May is a sh1te PM it's just as clear we will end up back in The Champ one day and with a highly-salaried squad and having seen a turnover approaching over a billion pounds if we survive another three seasons.

With that amount of dosh I find it very difficult not to put SP under scrutiny and looking at the bigger picture where he is likely to have failed the club.

Even if just £15mill per season had been ring-fenced for restructuring and refurbishment that would equate to nearly £100mill by now. Why he hasn't only he knows.

Bet even the cladding is dodgy.

If that we the criterion then in this house we would have ended up with Mourinho and gone bankrupt five minutes later.
