Ridiculous comments. The money is in place for the new stand. That is what the US investment was primarily for. It is not money, it is a small matter of the law / regulation. We do not live in a banana republic and cannot just build a massive building just because we are a Premier League club without doing it correctly. Look it up... Google planning regulations... alternatively, have a look at why Liverpool (a large football club) took years and years to build their new Main Stand.

To be fair, some of why Anfield took so long was previous ownership (Hicks and Gillett) flirting with building a new stadium and their subsequent financial shenanigans. You are correct that Palace have had a long road to hoe with trying to gain approval for their plans and deal with Sainsbury's who are not all that fired interested.

That has long been my view too. He did rescue the club and put money into it but it was all fully secured so that if the project went tits up he would get his money back. His investment has made him a much richer man than he already was and to top it all he gets paid £600,000 plus per year for being chairman which to put it into a different context is about the same as 30 nurses Now there's a thought. 30 nurses would certainly keep the team happy. Explain then why we haven't got state of the art training facilities, a flourishing youth academy, no proper scouting network here or abroad, and why the interior of the AW is so goddamn awful. It's not just about a shiny new stand.

It's not just about a shiny new stand. Funny enough I overheard this argument the other night but refrained from "Butting in" on the conversation. One of the chaps advanced the argument that whilst we receive a lot of money from the PL etc, we have to spend large amounts on players and wages just to stay in it which doesn't leave too much spare to spend on other matters.He then went on about a lower league club, Fleetwood, who have invested in good training facilities etc etc.
