Because he performed wonders with a team that was dead and buried well before Christmas that's why. Also he has a nose for getting affordable quality players in. Hull did not go down because of him but if you just want to look at points won yes then maybe Mancini or Ranieri would qualify. I would hate to see either of them, especially Mancini. He could not get it right with unlimited funds let alone having to work a relative budget.

No need telling me or anyone else to get a grip while my eye and mind still function perfectly!

I think you'll find it's democracy in action. I voted Mancini, by the way.

Who and why is anyone voting for silva
HE HASNT DONE ANYTHING IN THE PREMIERSHIP !!!
He took Hull City down !!!

Get a grip
Go for people that have actually WON the league
Mancini or Ranieri

Eddie Howe has built something that is quite brilliant at Bournemouth in my opinion, from pretty much nowhere. Monk took an already very well respected team at the time to 8th (which is good) but he inherited a lot more and then was dog s*** the season after. People keep saying that Leeds aren't anything special but they're a fairly big club and have some very good young players and he hasn't done that amazingly there either. He's no Eddie Howe at all.

Eddie Howe has spent an awful lot of money though in his time at Bournemouth.

Leeds being a big club is irrelevant, they've been s***e for a few seasons now until Monk came in?

I'm not saying he's amazing, but I think the idea that there is a massive gulf between the two isn't correct in my opinion. Howe may be a better manager, certainly more experienced, but I think the gap between the two is closer than a lot of people assume.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Has an excellent reputation in Spain.

What about: Roger Schmidt, Eduardo Berizzo, Martin Schmidt, or Christian Streich? All have done a good job at clubs similar to ours.

Mind you, I didn't want Allardyce and I was wrong on that.

Roger Schmidt - bad manager. Got sacked by Leverkusen because they were awful

Martin Schmidt - no thanks, nearly went down with Mainz, not good enough

Christian Streich - will never leave Freiburg, besides he's just qualified for Europe with them

We missed out on our former player Craig Harrison.
He has just been appointed manager of Hartlepool !

re. Roger Schmidt: Wasn't that after two decent seasons? He was there almost three years, I don't think they were s*** the whole time.

Martin Schmidt saved Mainz from getting relegated in his first season, got them to sixth and Europe in his second, then did poorly in his last season. He also had a good record with their youth team prior to taking over.

As for the last, fair enough.

I don't think anyone will be hired until after the Bank Holiday weekend, probably Wednesday or Thursday.

Of course i'm open to disagreements, but I really think he's the safest and best option. He's managed to keep Burnley up comfortably with a squad which really should be doing down. His style (as shown by when they did us 2-0) would definitely suit us when we go away to bigger teams. He has a reasonable amount of experience, and has quickly proven himself in the prem, which is what Parish seemingly cares about a lot (Pulis, Pardew, Allardyce). It would be difficult to tempt him but £££ talks!! Thoughts?

Is he even available? I'm sure Burnley are keen to keep him, so we'd be paying compensation as well as having to offer enough of a salary to tempt him away.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Yeah, you're right. It is probably quite unlikely,
but the compensation will be reasonably low,
I think it was only £2/3m to get Pardew. Also,
money doesn't seem to be too much of an issue to us

Agreed.

Posted it on another thread, similar style to allardyce, gets the best out of a limited squad which is promising, considering our squad is far stronger.

Only thing is if he would have a lot more job security at Burnley which makes me think he would stay.
