Does he fit the British Manager, not using Palace as a stepping stone and fitting the Palace mould profile that Parish spoke about in the interview yesterday?

Someone is not being 100% truthful.

A manager like this will look to establish his reputation at Palace by improving the team and performance for a couple of years max, then on and up to a top 6 club

Which will leave us a much better proposition to attract a replacement

As opposed to getting an old dinosaur who will hang on until we are in trouble again and then need to be sacked.

Yes I totally understand this reply in response to the post.

Does one want a manager who takes us into ther top 6 or indeed 8 then leaves for pastures new or a manager of longevity who has us biting our nails as we just pull clear of relegation in the PL year on year ?

That said I understand the notion of stability and laying down building blocks to improve the team, overall, over time rather than quick fixes followed by a 'Goodbye'.

Two different scenarios but the reality might be somewhere in between.

If he stays for 2 seasons for us that would be stability

His name has come up a few times already. It's an exciting prospect of course, I'd love for it to work out, but I'm just very wary of how a manager who's familiar with the Spanish league will manage making that change to the Premier League.

Pellegrino ticks all the boxes.knows Sammy Lee.knows the Spanish,Italian and premier league.

Got a top ten finish with Alaves and got them to the Spanish cup final.

Must of learned a lot working under Rafa Benitez being his no 2 at Liverpool.

I recall Pellegrino as '1st team coach' at Liverpool not No 2 to Benitez.

As a player, if my memory serves me well (Which it doesn't sometimes !), Pellegrino was a left-footed central defender who wasn't the quickest.

I can understand the excitement, due to some of the dinosaurs linked with the position but how much do we know about him. Aitor karanka had a good reputation but struggled in the league. Is it too much of a risk.

It is worth noting that although Karanka was 'Asst Manager' at Real Madrid he had never managed a team before arriving at Middlesbrough, but he did steer the club to promotion to the PL.

On the other hand, if Palace did loyalty it'd be Argentinian

For every pochenttino there's always a Pepe Mel. Whilst I want us to take a risk. Is this too much of a risk.
