Why am I getting the feeling there is a name we have all been missing, including the bookies? Does anyone know where Klinsmann is hanging out? Definitely not right for Palace but he does have ambitions and has a habit of being a charmer.

I'm back on the antacids I was using before the Hull match.

Probably the same place that he was when the bookies linked him to the job when Pards took over. The I'm not going to Palace saloon, like quite a few other managers given odds.

Dyche will doubtless have had plenty of suitors already and difficult to see why he'd elect to leave Burnley for us at this point.

The Guardian indicated yesterday that Watford would be prepared to offer Silva more money than we would.

Not keen on Monk.

But fairplay his last season in charge of the Jacks was blighted by internal problems of a rumoured sexual liason between a board member & one of the players wife's.

"This very morning I had the story confirmed by a friend who has strong contacts at board level. He also has known about this for some time but, despite giving me hints, was reluctant to divulge the full story as it could have been traced back to him. I came on here to start a thread only to find the story is now out. Probably the reason why he chose to cough up at long last.

I was told, more or less, exactly what has now been reported. Personally, I would have sanitized the story but the "facts" already seem to have been set out. Naturally Dyer was furious about what had happened and expected backing from Monk. He didn't get it so demanded an immediate move.

In turn the players were incensed and from then on our football fell apart - coincidentally about the same time that all this was happening. The general feeling of the squad was that they expected the manager to support the player particularly as he was a former team mate. That Monk chose to side with the "establishment" and protect his own interests didn't impress the squad, which seems to have impacted on team spirit and performance"

He must be a clairvoyant seeing as the next manager doesn't know who the next manager will be.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Maybe that explains why they were so shyte for the last few games under Monk. I'm not joking. I watched them live betting on their games. Truly shyte. One of them was vs the worst form team to n Britain and Swansea didn't enter the final third.

I have seen a lot of Ajax under Frank and can tell you: he is totally, totally unsuitable as a Palace manager. He adores the "controlling" game very much in the style of van Gaal and I don't think be able to introduce that and if he would we would be "boring, boring palace"

Indeed, but he may know what is in Parish's mind in the sense of whom he might want and whom he does not, which is more than we know.

Silva was my number 1 choice but why?! I'll tell you when I look deep into it, it's because in recent years is English fans have seen the success of foreign coaches and misunderstood this as a reflection on home grown coaches. The fact is, the likes of Eddie Howe and Dyche have a record which many coaches would struggle to replicate. Dyche, in particular has done great things. To take a club like Burnley up twice, before keeping them up is amazing.

Now, someone on here suggested moving to palace would be a sideways step. That, quite frankly is playing us down. Yes, we wouldn't be a 'huge' step up but we'd be a step up all the same. Dyche is at the stage now where he needs to establish if he can take Burnley further. My gut feeling is that he can't, with palace however it's all there to go forward at quite a pace. Zaha, Benteke, Cabaye, Townsend alone would get the mouth watering. With rumours of money to spend we're an attractive proposition for a Dyche type.

If he was Portuguese we'd be buzzing at this link. I'll do my best to forget he's ex-Millwall though!

Very good insight and logic mate! Yes, career-wise, leaving Burnley 'on a high' for up-and-coming Palace makes a lot of sense. If he stays at Burnley, it's 50-50 whether they'd improve at all and may even be odds-on to go down (actually favourites with Brighton to be relegated). At Palace, he'd have stronger squad, better odds at finishing mid-table, looking a hero, and improving his career into a regular PL manager and 'easy street' financially for the rest of his life. While his heart may tempt him to stay at Burnley, I think he'll take the clever option and join Palace.
