I think he'd be a very good appointment. People seem to be overlooking his achievements that landed him the England job in the first place. I reckon England played its best stuff in recent memory under him and we're unlucky not to get to the latter stages in the France World Cup. Many of the options mentioned play a very defensive dull football (albeit relatively successfully) but I want to be entertained for some portions of the game! Noddles is a Good suggestion.

I don't give a flying what the name of the next manager is or where he comes from; it's totally irrelevant. But a "very good coach" doesn't pick up just seven points away from home. His reputation seems to largely result from his being able to be promoted, relegated and promoted again; I'd prefer to appoint someone who won't be relegated in the first place. There's no evidence that he would attract big names, or more importantly, be able to manage the ones we have. He's a decent manager who's shown, and been rewarded with, loyalty at one club. What Dyche has done is to play to the strengths of his squad. At a minimum, he is a good organiser, tactically astute, and gets his players to give 100% every match. I think he is used to managing without a big budget, and is a 'safe pair of hands'. He knows the PL pretty well. If given the chance, I think he would do well at Palace. Not exciting, but safe.
