Just because someone manages a club doesn't make him a 'fan' in the way that we are. Ditto for players.

We buried my father-in-law yesterday. He'd been ill for the last year or so but worsened over the past couple of months. The thing is, he was very comfortably off 15 years ago but continued to work, ''Before i knew it i was 70yrs old. The time just flew by'' he recently said.

Sam was very gracious and complimentary about our fans
In his statement. He obviously wasn't talking about you. A classless response to his departure and what he achieved for us.

As long as he really does intend to retire and never takes another job in football then I wish him a long and happy retirement and thank him for keeping us up.
