Well this came out last year, but as ypu can see it's more a symptom of the Premier League rather than us losing control.

Good read and thanks for posting. Clearly putting a huge amount of time into the club, placing himself beyond personal commitments. Great to see and hear.

He has an opinion on most things and is willing to be forthright about the big topics in English football such as the agitation among the top six clubs to have a greater share of soaring overseas football rights.
Parish warns that the distribution model will be tinkered with at their collective peril. “Are we honestly saying people are only tuning in for Man United or Liverpool? It’s not factual, is it? If they are not careful they will ruin it, they will cook the golden goose. We’ve just signed a deal in China that is ten times the Spanish deal. That was the only place in the world where they had a bigger deal. Why? They like our version of football, the competitiveness, the uncertainty.
“If anyone thinks making this league more uncompetitive is going to make it more appetising, they are mad. The big clubs talk of the jeopardy that we don’t have the world’s top players. But the world’s public are voting constantly that they don’t care about that.”
So the idea of giving the top six more money? “If you want me to take myself into the backyard and shoot myself? There is a lot more right about what we are doing than wrong. Let’s not make the mistake of Italy in its heyday.”

SP nails it here. NBC promoted the relegation battle as much as the race for the top 4. Palace appeared very frequently on CNBC throughout the season and that wasn't because Rebecca Lowe is a supporter. In fact, relegation is a curiosity over here because we don't have it and probably never will. All the league matches are available here which means the attraction of the so-called big clubs is lessened. To pay them more than the rest of the league is a total nonsense. The casual US supporter wants to see a variety and not the same old sides every week. I believe next season there will interest in BAHAFC and the play-off winner and their matches will be featured on NBCSN/CNBC at least early on. Over here neutrals like to watch Palace because of the colourful atmosphere. Mainly, American viewers who don't have an allegiance to a particular team want to see a variety. Why should a select few hog all the attention and the money that goes with it?

Thank you for posting this article.

This is so true and confirms what Parish said. Let's face it after all who really wants to watch miserable Mourinho and his boring team every week just because they are Man U - I for one turn off whenever they are on live TV.
Well said Ken and you are entitled to post whenever you want just the same as anybody else.

Apparently 659 million people worldwide would like to watch Manchester United play if the rumoured statistics are to be believed

Yes, god help us if we ever arrive at the Scottish situation where the choice is Celtic and um...Celtic.
