Well done Huddersfield! It was a pretty dire game and regardless of who won, neither would survive long in the Prem. Huddersfield will need to do a lot of spending to have any hope at all. I reckon they could seriously challenge Derby's points record.

They need more up front. Defensively sound enough and that bald one moor or whatever his name was looked strong. But up front they severely lacked.

I'm sure nerves played a part but it was only the third time (I think) a goalless draw had been played out in this competition. So a combination of the two, nerves and lack of quality. Huddersfield really should have buried a few of their sitters.

This seems to get quoted every year, sometimes about multiple teams and hardly ever does anyone get anywhere near close to Derby's terrible season. We say it now about little old Huddersfield but wouldn't surprise me if they were 10th in December. There's usually a huge team spirit and silly results at the start of a campaign and even if they end up relegated they usually punch above their weight for a bit. The Derby one was during a time where you could bet on all 3 relegation places and be confident before a ball was kicked. Where it was "just nice to be in the Premier League" making up the numbers and sooo exciting for the fans of these little clubs to get a chance to watch the spectacle of their team getting trounced 3-0 by Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool every week. It's totally different now.

Yes, clubs used to aim to finish 4th bottom and you had 'mini leagues' - Wolves got in trouble for effectively not even bothering at Man United and fielded and 2nd string side, they just focused on the 6 pointers
