We have to be realistic Liverpool want 30m for Sakho even if we got him for 25m that is half our transfer budget gone

BS was not a one trick pony, if you saw his Bolton side you would know that. Of course BS told SP he wanted to go, that is my point. I should have learnt long ago not to be sarcastic on this forum. Sorry, just all getting to me.

I read those remarks as his just being fed up with the financial state of the sport right now and who could blame him? It pi**ses me off and I only watch it. The financial constraints would be pretty much the same wherever he managed; I don't think it was specifically about Palace. I also don't think that was 100% of his reasons.

Totalsportek was just for the TV income for the 2016-2017 season (which is formulaic so I'm confident they got it right). My figure of £80m wages comes from the 30 June 2016 accounts (ie was for the wage bill prior to signing Benteke, Schlupp, PVA etc etc). I'd say the figure of £90m-£95m is about right.

In terms of clearing out, we actually managed a 'decent' job last summer of sort of balancing the books. We obviously spent big on Benteke and Townsend but recouped a lot of that through Bolasie and Gayle.

Unfortunately, unlike last year I don't see a lot of obvious areas to 'cash in'.

The good news this year is there are a few players (like Ledley, Campbell etc who will fall off the wage bill).

Oh yeah sportek ok for income. Fair dues. I must be misremembering the wages as I went through that document and thought it was a bit less. Slightly depressing if you're right. Got a link perchance?

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Yeah, but he's the best centre back we've had in years and the other 3 defenders and the goalkeeper are at least 20% better when he's playing. So well worth half our budget , what else can you get for 25 million? Bolassie? Kyle Walker will cost city over £40 mil and he was kept out of the team by Trippier.

Where are these figures coming from regards our supposed "Transfer Budget" ? Just fantasy figures akin to Jeremy Corbyn's dastardly 'Labour Party" and all their spending pledges.Darned "Money Tree" and all that.

We'll be going for the likes of Kone if it's not Sakho at £30 mil.

Not terribly inspiring, but probably sensible. No chance of going for someone like that guy who recently resigned at Dortmund then.

Suspect that SP may be keeping cards close to his chest.

And worth every penny. The difference he made in some very hard games was clear to see, I doubt we would have survived without him.

Your dislike of our ex manager shows up in most of your posts about him. Unfortunately you are completely wrong in your comments about him not being a progressive manager as he was far more progressive than most managers of his generation being an advocate of modern technology for assessing players and games
