No its not, its a secular country with a distinct separate of religion and state, and has been throughout modern history. Also, Great Britain isn't a country either, its a collection of nations. It hasn't been a single sovereign state since 1800.

Oh, and I ought to add, the statement in question wasn't illegal was it? Nor was it something that the HOL could be legally charged for housing? You know the law better than I do though I realise!

Saying you don't like Muslims probably says far more about the person saying it, than it does about the people they don't like.
