Unbelievable bloke. Hope he gets the GC because actually fighting back if you are able could save many lives. So he set a good example and deserves all rewards he gets.

It comes down to mentality. My sister once intervened when a bloke was getting glassed by a deranged geezer in Beckenham when the pub was packed with big tough guys who were all too frightened to say a word.

You won't ever know what you are made of until that moment comes. I wish for you all that you never have to find out.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

In a mood because you know tommorrow is going to be a bad day for you?

In deference to Steph....I wish you a lovely evening.

I would shake his hand....but I fear it would fall off.

Sorry; a cheap Blackadder reference. Roy is a hero. I have donated. Wouldn't it be great if we clubbed together to (say) hire a box at Selhurst for a Palace game for him and his family? Except he'd probably tell us to feck off, and then fair play to him!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Dont get carried away. Am sure he is delighted with the crowdfunded money raised and all the plaudits rightly praised on him but inviting him to Palace? Why dont you invite him to sleep with your wife instead, for me it amounts to the same thing.

What a very brave thing for this bloke to have done

Might be a Wall fan but fully deserves to be praised for his act of bravery

Speedy recovery Roy

That reminds me of a story a friend of mine once told me. He's a rap music fan, and a fan of Snoop Dog in particular. His dad's a cop. His dad was doing security one night at a concert where Snoop Dog was one of the performers. He knew his son was a fan, so he contrived to meet Snoop after the show, and asked for an autograph for his son. Snoop responded, "F**k you bacon," and refused. The next day he told my friend what happened. He apologized for not being able to get the autograph, said he felt badly and so on. My friend just smiled, and said, "Dad, I'd be very disappointed in him if he'd reacted any other way."

Gives you a warm glow doesn't it, having such a great artiste in our midst, how lucky we are.

Love them or hate them, youve got to have time for millwall Roy. Faced with 3 men in suicide vests and machetes, he jumps up and shouts 'f**k you I'm millwall', brilliant.
His mum saying he's not scared of anyone with a knife or a gun, he looks like he's in his fifties.
Sounds like he saved many lives, the 'f**k you I'm millwall' amongst all that carnage must go down as one of the greatest bit of gallows humour of all time. English South London spirit at its finest. I salute you Roy , you f*cking mad c**t. Millwall or not.

An old mate from back in the day. Used to go about with Stuart and that lot. In fact, I think you may have drank with him on a couple of occasions. Was always a game bloke back then so didnt surprise me when I heard it was him.

Has been struggling lately, so glad he's got a few quid coming his way. Thoroughly deserved.
