Sorry, I appreciate your out of the box thinking but shiver from your proposal! Maybe go and talk to Fenway/John W Henry. Remember they proposed a crowd funding for redoing the Anfield Road end of the ground as the cost per extra seat was "not viable". To me, that is worse then adding insult to injury. I love the game and I love the club but let's face it: identity is unfortunately only very very minimally connected to the players. Don't think it ever got mentioned on here, but did you see Batshuayi running away from "his own" Chelsea fans when scoring the winning goal at West Brom which made them Champions? Looking for the nearest TV camera or maybe all rehearsed where to be. To me thats as bad as shouting abuse and flicking the finger at traveling fans. To individually start funding players wages when they are on well over a week compared to the average fan in a year is totally out of my mindset. If it was for them to make a living, a reasonable living things may different but otherwise I'd rather watch football on a lower level then do that.

Was thinking that if supporters setup a crowd source page and donated say £100. Then this could go a long way in paying a marque players wages.

I am studying full time but I would pay that if it meant the likes of Sakho's wage bill was less of an obstacle for him to sign.

Maybe club could reward funders with priority tickets for a semi or a final.

If I can get 10 people to agree I will setup page and donate the first amount.

Most of our first team players must be on circa 60k plus per week and there's no danger crowd sourcing would fund that. Also no danger I'd be willing to contribute and I see my season ticket and Palace Ales as more than enough of a contribution. If we're crowd funding anything, surely it would be better going to the youth system where it will genuinely help the community and hopefully produce another Wilf.

Funny you should say that, the season after we sponsored Peter Ramage's shirt (I say "we", it was HOL radio and I only stuck a tenner in I think) I suggested HOL/HOL Radio should sponsor the youth team's shirts (based on contributions from listeners/forum posters). Still think it'd be a cool thing to do although I admit to being a bit naive about how much it'd cost.

What a ludicrous idea.I also was a member of lifeline when we didn't have two halfpennies to rub together. But the idea that we all club together to pay someone £50,000+ wages every week is totally crazy.

This has to the most ridiculous post I have ever seen.

With food banks springing up all over the place, the divide between rich and poor getting worse, thousands dying every year due to poor housing conditions or the inability to afford heating and you want to throw money from, I would presume a mainly working class support, at very much over paid, underworked players!!

Truly baffling.

How about we crowd fund for something that is actually worthwhile!!

I'll set up a standing order then I can pay my pension directly to CPFC ,that might cover the cost of laces for Christian's boots.
