I think Chambers has great potential and just needs regular games. Also coach like FDB could be ideal. Having said that would not be surprised if this is a back up plan just in case Martins Indi does not come off

We have to remember the manager is seeking to bring down the average age of the squad by bringing in younger players. Those who are versatile, can cover several positions, and who are comfortable passers. Chambers and Jairo fit this criteria.

I see more sense in buying chambers at 22, develop him into a 40m player in 2yrs time. No one knows if Riedewald will be a success, whereas chambers had a decent season for m'boro. They seem to think chambers is great player, I think they know more about chambers, than most of our fan base.

This £30m budget has come from nowhere - the last thing Sam said on transfers was they were looking at Sakho plus 2 or 3 others so, realistically, £40m+.

I believe that the budget is £30 million plus any money from selling unwanted players. Allardyce hinted at Sakho (£30 million) plus two or three others,this would make sense.
