We have to remember the manager is seeking to bring down the average age of the squad by bringing in younger players. Those who are versatile, can cover several positions, and who are comfortable passers. Chambers and Jairo fit this criteria.

Don't really understand the Croydon Advertiser latest report about Chambers being considered as a loanee? I thought prem teams were only allowed to have one player on loan from teams in the same league?

My unstanding and I may be wrong... is that each team can have up to two loans from Premiership/English team but not both coming from the same club. And one further loan from an international team. So we could say have: I believe that's the total allocation allowed however I really might be wrong but that's my limited understanding.

I think you're allowed 2 premier league loans and 2 loans outside the prem, whether it's from championship team, like when we loaned tom ince from Blackpool in the championship or a team aboard.
