So at Palace we want possession, excitement, a solid defence, fast counter attacking football, clean sheets and lots of goals. Is anyone starting to think we might support the wrong club?

Exactly. The snobbery our fans seem to have about playing 'the right football' makes you wonder how they've managed to follow this club through the years.

Southampton scored 17 goals at home in 19. If he's appointed remind me to bring a pillow to selhurst every game.

And yet they finished the season as 'the best of the rest' outside of the super 7 mini league.

They may have been boring but are you seriously suggesting you would prefer our 16/17 season to theirs?

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

At this moment in time I'd probably prefer a manager that can get us a half decent league position, albeit if we have to sacrifice attractive football. Once our infrastructure has improved and we go a couple of seasons without flirting with relegation, then I'd probably start to dream of attractive football. But I guess that's easy for me to say as an armchair fan so I only offer it as a humble personal opinion.

Pardew finished 5th with Newcastle on that logic are suggesting that they would want him back. He lost the fan base at Southampton. Of course their league position looks healthy , however they only 6 pts off 4th from bottom Watford.

The magical 40 point mark along with 8 teams including Palace.
6 Points or under from 8th to 17th.
Fine lines in the Premiership.

Palace 13th 2017/18.

Fair enough, but of all the realistic names being touted for the Palace job which would genuinely be a contender for doing better? Probably none of them.
