In that same time the net population of the UK increased by 7 million, largely due to an aging population But England is hardly full up. English golf courses use an amount of land that is equivalent to one fifth of England�s total built up area (10% of England is built upon) and could provide at least eight million homes. So, a rapid reduction in golfers over 65 would be a way more legitimate argument.

The government should do more to bring about a real push to build more houses. That benefits the people though rather than the government. There will be no push on the housing front and whatever shade of brexit we see, I doubt immigration will come down much either. Cheap labour init'.

Those statistics included things like people's back gardens.

Since 2004 (when Blair opened the UK up to eastern European migrants,the population has increased by 5 million people,before that it took 35 years to do that.
