I'm with you you Simon and your golf course critique. Nail on head. There's on ejust down the river from Richmond and massive it is too. Could probably house 5,000 if built upon. Good social housing too. Would p1ss off 300 rich golfers so maybe it isn't such a good idea.

Golf courses are often very important nature reserves as well. Building on them is an act of barbarism.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Couples shagging in the 15th bunker should not count as 'nature'.

Although my 22 year old self would strongly disagree

Then there's the people who should've been housed in those years on top of the houses needed going forward. I'm afraid youre in denial my friend.

Because if they built enough to supply demand, the consequence would be to deflate and possibly collapse the housing market - which would have a severe economic effect on top of being an election loser.

Residential property shouldn't really be an investment in the way it has become.

Of course it is.

And I do have an idea as how high the rate of building would have to be to keep pace.

With the population growing at a rate of 500k per year and the average number of people per dwelling currently being 2.4 that's just over 200k new homes per year

Hardly uncontrollable. But you carry on making a fool of yourself

148k houses were completed last year.

Your figures ar too simplistic. They don't take into account demand from existing population. More importantly, do you know how much more infrastructure will be required year on year and the stress it puts on local communities. It cannot continue at this rate.

Would you, or your little chum, Cucking Funt like to educate me of what it is I don't understand?

I think I understand the pair of you very well.

That's nice.

You clearly don't understand why the British population is increasing. It ain't 'cause of old people chief.

It's a difficult balancing act and first time buyers are getting the wrong end of the privy stick

Yet another problem with the selfish old g**s is that they are not dying on time as they used to, if the government were to cancel brexit there would be no need for them to hang on any longer.

Hence freeing up property and strain on public services at a stroke.
