What about our own youngsters? Does anyone have a definitive idea as to who is coming through?

Ryan Innis has got good reports when on loan but has been very unlucky with injuries.

Parish meantioned in an interview a month or so ago three lads who he thinks might be near breaking through.

Luke Dreher
Nya Kirby
Kian Flanagan

This is a quote someone else posted about them in another thread:

Quote:
3 very promising youngster, Luke Dreher is a good utility player as he also can play as a centre half too. Nya Kirby is one of the best in the academy at the moment in my opinion, great passer and loves to take players on.I think Kian Flanagan is one of the youngest players who plays in the under 23s, you can sometimes hear his mother reminding him to use his asthma pump at half time, he is also a great passer of the ball and very comfortable on it.

Two other lads that could get into the first team are Michael Phillips, a midfielder and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a full back who is a great defender and great going forward

I may loose my love for this club if we start doing that frankly

Wonder if he'll tap them up for academy players on the verge of breaking through that I'm sure he'd know about. Or possibly get some loan deals sorted.

Various possibilities

Dutch sorry I didn't mean that in a negative way and understand that my sentence probably came out wrong.

What I meant was more along the lines of him using his contacts and connections in a positive way for both clubs and the players. I didn't mean it to sound as if we should go raiding anyone.

More of a co-op heck might help us to send some in the other direction for a year or two as well.

While I agree youngsters should be given a chance, they have to be good enough. Rather than picked due their age. With the potential of RDB in charge. He will improve the academy, but this will take time.

Andy Johnson Magic, He wears a Magic Hat
When he Sees the match ball, he says he having that
He scores one with left foot, he scores one with his right
And When his playing Brighton, He scores all f***ING Night!

This is true they have to be able to step up.

Parishs interview said that if we'd had a better run in, then Sam was thinking about giving them a run out. Maybe not all of them.

Think if we get off to a good start and FdB feels the same as Sam did then one or two should get a run out I hope.

Got me thinking. Nathan akè of Chelsea. Impressed when on loan b'mouth last season. With Chelsea being linked to likes of bouncci. He'll see little game time. The fact he's Dutch is also a plus.

Who is RDB supposed to be? I genuinely don't know

All previously played under De Boer:

Vurnon Anita has been released by Newcastle. Would be good competition for Ward

Viktor Fischer - Boro would probably be happy to get rid now they've been relegated - cover for the wings.

Jaïro Riedewald should be our no.1 target for a CB. Would be much cheaper than Sakho and highly rated.

Cant see us getting anywhere near Riedewald, hes a top target for Chelsea.

Hopefully FdB can put an arm round him, hes a top prospect!

Accepted and yes I do feel strongly on the subject. Not that Ajax itself does not get youngsters in from all over the country and beyond so do realise there is also an element of hypocrisy in my stance.

There really are a few gems closing in on the first team. How it may benefit us I am not so sure, the playing styles are so totally different.

Only as trading material I am sure..... he has showed nothing to suggest he could be anywhere near good enough to play in the Premier League. Talented certainly but even with us I could not see him as an immediate regular starter

Sorry I meant FDB - frank de Boer. I'm confusing them already. God help me.

If FdB is confirmed and with our ties with Sakho, do you think Parish has had brought up the conversation in the interviews around whether to sign him? The next obvious question is do you think that FdB will take the opportunity. I know £30m has been touted around, but even at that price I think he's worth it. Yes, it's a lot of money, but he's still young and oddly we have the rare fact that we know he would fit into the team, settle quickly (as he already has really) and would massively improve our team, not just as a defender, but as a leader and off the pitch.

What do you think?
