In regards to FDB possibly planning to make Palace play possession football, I personally am not too concerned, as with Pardew there were a few matches where they did this very well, which the commentators mentioned. But Pardew neglected the defence. We controlled, attacked and scored (on these occassions) but we nullified this by letting in more goals through Pardew's defence. I don't believe (I hope) that FDB will not be doing this. I think this squad can transition to FDB's style (if indeed that is what he intends to do come kickoff in August. But from FDB/Parish's interview, I also got the impression that he wa going to be smart about trying to do this too early in the PL. I think FDB is possibly one of the smartest managers we've ever had, and at present I am very confident from what I am seeing that he will be successful. Here's hoping.

agree and very hopeful for the coming season, although the top 6/7 teams will be as difficult as every. I am hopeful of being in around mid-8th in the table this coming season

A good piece about FdBs transfer approach, which looks very enterprising and likley to yeild a good crop of european players (OK dutch!) who would need good coaching but could do very well in PL, with good sell on Potential

Whatever FDBs philosophy,we might all have to be patient as it could take time to bear fruit whilst he aims for his ideals.

I believe that so long as it is apparent as to what he is trying to achieve, supporters in the main will give him some 'Slack' but of course we are in the rarefied atmosphere of the PL and we cannot to let points slip whilst we are in some form of transition - that word again ! It's a balance that has to be struck and I believe FDB is pragmatic enough to see this and might need to compromise in the medium term.

I am sure that his plan is to improve the academy in it's various aspects and to see young talent come through and play in the FDB style, he might also get involved in infrastructure matters and I am not talking about the stadium ! So a 'Bigger picture' not just the first team.

We of course all hope that he proves a huge success and is lauded for his efforts.
