He is okay, and he is made of glass. I say get rid of we can recoup the money. But that would mean we would need to bring in 3 up front.

He is an ok football, at present nothing more. Minutes on pitch is dire.

At the start of this year I had a conversation with someone about Wickham and other matters relating to players.
He seemed to think that Wickham had made some 120 apps in 8 years. We never discussed how many were from the subs bench or the total playing time.Wouldn't expect him to know these details off the top of his head.

Perhaps a new manager of FdB's stature may be the turning point for him. I hope so as we paid a few million for him. Pointless trying to sell him now as we would get vastly less than we paid for him due to his injury problems.

Think we paid £7 Mill + add-ons which doesn't seem a lot these days.

With Benteke around and the new manager playing with a lone striker, one cannot see how Wickham would get in - maybe if Benteke is injured or rested for a League Cup game.

Given his injury record, one cannot see too many clubs coming in for him on a permanent deal - perhaps some might wish to loan him ?

Never looked at the 'Link' at all.
Knew it was £7 Mill - wasn't sure of the 'add-on' figure.

he should play alongside Benteke both need to be able to handle the fast low ball and both be ready for the high ball to head in or down to the feet of their strike partner..........we have wingers and wing backs to cross the ball in and a good midfielder behind the front two to adjust the ball back out to the wingers.

Wickham is a good player if encouraged and restored.

I am not sure about the number 10 position, but there is no doubt that Wickham is always first choice for a place in the physio's room.

Perhaps we should appoint Dr Jo Venglos as manager to see if he can ever get Wickham fit.

If you read the article posted elsewhere about Ryland Morgan's role in the rescue operation it's clear that our training methods were suspect to say the least.

The transformation in fitness sat alongside a measured approach to recovery and injury prevention which could be the turning point for Wickham (assuming things continue in the same way).

He is clearly a talented footballer who, I believe, would prove himself given a run in the team with the right service.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

This injury prone lark is nonsense. He suffered injuries with us last year which is the first time he has suffered like this in his career - he may turn out to now struggle as he's had a very serious injury but to suggest he's always been made out of glass and we should get rid etc is just nonsense and before people post they should at least do their research.

He's the perfect backup to Benteke and will learn bucket loads from him. If he can get fit (and he's a young man there's no reason why he won't) then he is ideal. He started to show his quality for us before he got injured.

Plus I'm in love with his bird.

If his injury record was poor coming to us but greatly improved and with it more game time since then I could understand your comments LBG but it's the other way round which, is concerning. It has been one thing after another and this has earned him the 'man of glass' tag.
The question is why has he gone from a good to a bad injury record and no doubt this is something that the medical and fitness experts are looking to identify. Once they do he can hopefully achieve full fitness plus maybe game time and a run in the team. Of course he may have to go out on loan to get this.

In his first season with us 2015-16 he made 24 appearances in all competitions but never played from end August to early November.

Last season he only made 10 apps and never played after November 16.
