His response to the organisers isn't very professional, or PR savy, which if your a manager of a business on behalf of someone else, is quite important. Whilst I'd say its a bit harsh, its a communication in his role as a representative of the business, that he's communicating - and its clearly reflected badly on that business. Oh come on. You know how it works. The agenda is perpetuated by fear of bad publicity and loss of earnings if what is said is within the law.

However it is very clear that this situation has been seized upon by whoever felt criticized and then activists who bully companies with bad publicity to control how they act. That's why I'm hearing about on the BBC. The sum result is very negative.

How's it going with your new job at The Daily Mail? They must be pleased with your natural ability to mischievously exaggerate. There was no bullying just a share on social media and the company held its own full investigation and decided the employee was not what they were about and strongly disapproved of his e-mail so fired him. No big deal.

Was he hard done by, yes, was he unfairly hounded yet - did he let his employers down, yes and his employers hardly can be said to have done right by him either. But its been the way of the world of protesters long before political correctness, to leverage companies with costs and PR.

No, I mean its not free speech as defined by law. But its also not really political correctness either (given it doesn't really relate to identity politics really). His treatment is s**t, but its up to his boss to determine whether or not someone is accountable for what is said on behalf of the company, and what is good or bad for business. The charity group, however also have acted very unprofessionally, but leaking the reply, and his employers by backing down to the pressure. He should consult a lawyer about unfair dismissal.

No, and I think ultimately the reason for firing the manager is economical, not political or political correctness, but as a means of avoiding increasing negative publicity probably more relating to the fact it was a charity event for the victims of the Grenfell tower fire. But I think as well the behaviour of others involved is far worse, and what he said, its not really a sacking offence at all. But its not political correctness. Its the 'snowflake' self righteous mentality, and bullying.

The attitude of his employers is understandable and predictable but the environment that causes them to take that action is not acceptable. We are in the grip of a identity politics nuttery with the puppet masters laughing all the way to their off shore accounts..
