I guess the conversation went when FDB was being interviewed by SP do you think Jonniesta will fit in with your style of play he said probably so SP gave Jonniesta an extended contract and because FDB told SP what he wanted to hear he got the job. Now he as seen everyone I am sure Jonniesta will remain a bit part player as long as he keeps fit which of course is always debatable.

Signing a contract, means we're protecting an club asset. I think if we offered anything more than 1.5m , we should sell.

I'd love to see you eat your words, but alas, I don't expect that to happen.

Joe Hart looks angrier than a kid with no Easter eggs, David Silva looks like he won't smile for a week. Vincent Kompany has taken his shirt off and looks like he might just start a fight with himself. The visiting dressing room will be a glum place.

Realise i'm in the minority with this and understand why, however I still feel that injury permitting, given a run in the team Williams would prove his worth.
Going back to our promotion year, to me Williams was as impressive as Wilf.
Would love to see him given a run of half dozen games, have a feeling he might surprise many and would be like having a new signing, however the financial rewards for being involved in the prem does not allow for managers to take risks so I doubt he will ever be given his chance.

Even in the championship, Johnny Williams wasn't impressive, he was often dropped for dobbie, Moritz or Owen garvan. He hasn't even scored a league goal for Palace even in this 'impressive championship' season. If he didn't come through the academy, then you wouldn't even feel this. Sean scannell done more in a Palace shirt and he left 5 years ago. He seems a nice guy, but it's best for both parties to part ways.

To be fair, Garvan and Moritz were quality.

Of course I wouldn't drop anyone. Maybe give him an outing or two in the league cup and then after a month if we pick up a few injury's/cards etc I would like to see him make the bench. Go from there really.
But I cant see it happening.

who else we got who can run with the ball stuck to he`s toe ... we have not got anyone like him ... What he needs to do is know when to ride a tackle out or not go into 50/50 balls..he can be like a little terrier
Every one is asking for an attacking midfielder , we do have one He`s a box to box player and will always set up more than he scores. To be far he seems to have bulked up quite a bit ...

FDB will do what`s best . He may even get the best out of him , Lets hope he has a good asia tournament

Found this on whoscored.com

J.williams strengths - key passes

Weaknesses- tackling, finishing, passing and Ariel duals

[Link]

Where's he actually gonna get in the side. Can think of 4 players that would get in front of him as a number 10 - puncheon, Cabaye, mcarthur and lee. Even in the wide positions he's behind sako,Zaha,Townsend ,lee and puncheon. If he hasn't forced he's way on the bench and he's competing against the likes of sako and lee, then the premiership not for him.
