Sakho brilliant but £30M so far out of our price range.

For a club like us, that's 2 or 3 decent players. As already mentioned- rather we spread the money around, with some shrewd loan signings, and try and steer clear of the bottom 3 the whole of next season!

What can you get for Sakho

Veltman (10m)
Hernandez (13m)
Tete. (3m)
Vorm. (3m)
Loan player

We not denying we'd love Sakho at palace but to pay 30m for a cb at palace is extreme especially with our ground.

Not in todays market 30m is the going rate that is madness but thats the way it is.

It's not just the £30m transfer fee...it's the £100,000-a-week pay packet on top. A three-year deal is £15.6m to save people working it out. Or £20.8m for four years.

We were so lucky to get sakho on loan. It kept us up Simples.
Loan again? Brill.
Buy at £30m? Out the question.

It still p*sses me off that Liverpool are asking for 30 mil for him, especially when he isn't likely to play under Klopp

Yep it pisses me off as well, especially as they wanted 20 in January. We effectively added 10 million to his value by playing him. Shame there was no option to buy....

Who do you buy?

Lukaku, Mahrez, Kane

or do you look at those you have - who can be developed - those who are being overlooked, those who are developing with other clubs, those who need to impress international managers?

We must not keep falling for sales talk - Zeki Fryers springs to mind.

When Sam came, we had no idea of the business he would do; Frank is no different.

Even if they have the wrong exchange rate, $40 million is putting far too many eggs in one basket. We already have one player coming back from serious injuries (Souare) and knees are tricky. To pay that amount would require a 100% clean bill of health and Big Mama is still rehabbing. I'm sure FdB, SP and the staff have taken all of this into consideration.

I would be happy for us to spend that level of money on Tety and Veltman from Ajax and still have circa £15m to put towards a decent keeper.

As much as I loved Sakho we have to be careful not to put all our eggs in one basket, plus he has shown he can pick up a few injuries which we could ill afford having spent £30m!!

I think this has to be a case of the head ruling the heart for SP.

I want Sahko too, but there is a risk: His type of injury has a habit of reappearing. I'd guess that those injuries really need more than just a few months to be 100%. I can see him limping off again after a few matches with CPFC down 30m plus wages. Great player, worth the money, but for us too risky.

agree. he'd rather a youngster with potential at a much lower price. it's over - sakho isn't coming. period.
