I personally believe that FDB knows the Dutch league market. More than all of us on this forum. Regarding Tete even if he's a flop 3m is hardly breaking the bank, in this inflated market which 20m get you Nathan Akč.

Sahko is not coming unless there is a dramatic change from Liverpool. They want 30m or very close to and I think a team will pay it but it's not going to be us.

Its not putting blind faith in FdB, necessarily. Sakho looks like a sure bet - but what if he gets a long-term injury? He's not exactly made of steel, is he? If you accept we need to save money for much-needed improvements to our infrastructure then I would argue that £30m for Sakho appears too much when there are lesser-known players from other leagues who could prove better value for money. We all know the various holes in the squad that need filling. We've more chance of achieving that if we spend £5m or £10m on two right-back defenders - who can cover central. And lets remember one thing - our defensive mindset was shot to pieces for various reasons last season. Once Pape got injured it undid the whole defensive line. I don't believe Dann has lost it permanently. With the right pre-season training will Sakho's undoubted aura be so essential?

Palace fans seem to think he's indebted to the club. Yes he was a superb player. The best I seen in the 20 years , I've been watching but no one bigger than the club. Also in that short period of time, we didn't see his weak spots. I'd love Sakho back but it's time to move on and stop worrying about Sakho all summer.
