I think the reason behind Brighton being on a lot early in the season is 1. The novelty value! And 2. The agreement I believe is that each team must be on a certain number of times they often put the new boys on a lot early in the season to get them out the way, no fun showing a team marooned at the bottom getting stuffed each week!!! I seem to remember same happening to us back in the day.
