God forbid he goes. But if him and our forgotten treasure Bolasie got together they would wreak havoc in the premier.

At the moment he is being linked with a move away to not one but two clubs, one of whom always spends big the other who is flush after a big sale. Before that it was China. How much of this is his agent on the constant lookout for a better deal for their client? But so far we don't see the player saying 'I am staying here. I am happy.' So maybe he is mercenary and will simply sign for the highest bidder. Shame at at the end of the season he really started to be part of the team and up for the fight.

He's not even in the Belgian starting XI so we would be crazy to turn down £40mill plus for him.

Sorry but just because a player hasn't announced unrequited loyalty to the club at the first sign of rumours suggesting a move it does not mean he's a mercenary

Totally I can't imagine Parish would entertain an offer which didn't significantly profit us. We don't need to sell, Benteke by all accounts is seatled. (Looking for a London house) So that being said we are in a hugely strong position and would get to dictate the price to some extent. Can't imagine we'd settle for a figure less than £50-60m. I very much doubt anything will come of these rumours but that kind of money if reinvested wisely could put us in a better position. I bet Parish is glade he had a holiday as he'll be crazy busy spinning plates from now until September... Imagine if we hadn't tied Wilf down to a new contract early doors. I'm sure that rumour mill would now be in overdrive ! How can it put us in a "better position". We spent three years trying to find a striker that could actually score goals. Every club in the PL is looking for 15+ goals a season strikers and not one of them will be queueing up to join us. If Benteke does go £50m or £60m won't get us out of the cack. We'll just be back to being a team that doesn't score, but with money in the bank.

Good job Parish and Frank don't view it that way. And he's behind a £75 mil with £25 mil addons in an international team ranked up there with the best, even though they flunk tournaments because they suffer the similar individual star problem Holland have with them all leaving Belgium early for Chelsea, City etc.

I like him, but someone needs to remind him of this fact. Not enough off the ball movement for my liking, which could have seen his goal tally much higher.
