I agree I'm sure he is past his best. But we won't be paying a fortune for him. Very small transfer fee and his wages are comparable with Sakos who would be leaving. I'm all for signing a young striker, thought Iheanacho would have been good. But in fairness we don't have £25m for him. RVP I think is good because he's cheap and is quality skills wise. Hey show me a £5m pound striker that could play second fiddle for us? RVP would be a stop gap 2/3 choice becuase we desperately need a back up and can't afford anyone proven. I don't get why anyone would actually not see this as a good deal?

Surely if Sako and Mandanda are sold that will free up £120/130k p/w in wages as they are reputed to be big earners and bring in £10m between them. Add that to the players that have already been released you must have another £50k p/w. They would surely want to upgrade Mutch if a suiter can be found if not another loan arrangement would do. Also if Palace are contemplating entertaining offers for McArthur a at sensible price this must all total some £18/20m and 230/250k per week wages. This must be on the way of affording some of the players being mentioned as more than worthy upgrades? I don't believe Dann will leave Palace as being relieved of the captaincy and fully fit he will return to form. However I don't think he will ever be the ball carrying passing CB that FdB is rumoured to want! However if we do manage to do this deal with Sakho who is a ball carrier and passing CB that we know enhances Palaces defence and can help boost Dann's confidence no end. I also hope that Townsend wouldn't even contemplate leaving or Palace selling him at the moment as when he is minded to he is a real game changer! Also I have not accounted for Chungy, Williams or Lee who are another three that could well be sold for more appropriate squad players.

In - Cillesen, Tete, Sakho & RVP (on the cheap as cover). 3 first team upgrades + cover for Benny Out - Steeeeve, Chungy, Mutch and Sako (if we can get a sensible fee for him) And then my friends, we are done until Xmas - take stock, and see what we need in the Jan window. If Puncheon is not back to his best - then a new ACM. I'd say it might end up something like: In - Cillesen £20m, Sakho £26m, Loftus-Cheek (free), RVP £4m Out - Steeeeve £1.5m, Sako £4.5m, and Jimmy Mac £9m Net spend: £35m Personally think that would very much strengthens us, and if we could also find a RB then happy days.

I'd be surprised if we spent £20 mil on a keeper this year and managed to get £4.5 mil for Sako.
