Wilf is probably at his most effective playing as he does . For me his strength is in taking and keeping the ball off the defence , he is our best 'out' ball followed by fast counter attacking . Of course a change of style that finds Zaha further forward with the ball at his feet makes the above nonsense .
And we still need a striker |

Not sure which Chelsea you have been watching but the whole team tracked back and if they did not the mad coach was screaming and ready to substitute them! And its all good to think we should play further forward to give Wilf a better chance of goalscoring opportunities but to me that sound a bit megalomanic. Put the ball on Benteke's head from a counter attack sound a much easier and safer way to threaten if you ask me!

I don't watch a lot of European football but I remember a few years back Robben was doing a lot of tracking back, probably under Guardiola or possibly Heynckes. Maybe Ancelotti uses him differently now he's a bit older.

We won't play 3-4-3 but Zaha could feasibly be left higher up on the pitch when we're defending in our half. Puncheon has filled in that space before, Bolasie was often left up field and Puncheon would go left mid when defending.

He did the same for Leicester the previous season - He was such a reliable, high quality defensive midfielder he freed Leicester to push further upfield, allowing Drinkwater and Maraz much more space to feed into Vardy. I don't think the quality of this player can be overstated. Not just world class, I'd say he's World XI class.

Yes agree I don't think this 'revolution' is necessarily that far away from the football being played towards the end of the season. Really hope we can just kick on from where we left off.
