I said most. There are another 30+ transfers done that I'd not be interested in.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

So... Parchmore is not sure if he'll be able to have a moan after the start of the season, so he's posting a provisional moan just in case?

20 m for Ake when we just signed v Aanholt and Schlupp and 30m plus for an overrated goalkeeper who is barely better then Wayne and only gets hyped because he is English. Ruddy, Carson, Kirkland even Forster come to mind; they were all talents of the century. I would not at all be happy had we spend there!!

I agree Pickford is over rated but besides that Everton's business has been class so far.

Everton's 'Director of football' is Steve Walsh who moved from Leicester and was credited with some really good signings over there.

Is the "proof of the pudding" when it comes to Parish not the fact that he's been chairman in a time when we've gone from possible championship relegation contenders to fairly established premiership side?

Can't believe the jury is still out on him....

Measure of the man was accounted for last season. He clearly wanted Pardew to stay, but in the end admitted his error, sacked him and brought in the best man for the job, and backed him in the January window, despite a poor run in that month.

I think we've done well with Parish, better than at any other time in our history. He frustrates at times, like sticking by Pardew and taking his time with Allerdyce's replacement, but we've gone from Championship relegation battlers to regular premier league.

Sooner or later that might end, but where we are now - We've never had this before.

The proof of Parish's pudding will be in the eating when we see what runs on and off the pitch against Hull in a few weeks. So personally, I'm reserving my usual critical judgement on him - honestly. If by dragging his feet getting a manager this off-season he has saved the funds he needs to buy Sahko and the likes, then hats off to him. But today, right now, I paste this quote from an article: "Palace are the only top-flight club not to make a signing so far this summer but the capture of Loftus-Cheek will kick-start De Boer's recruitment drive ahead of the new season." [Link]
Because right now, to me, whether he's been brilliantly sly or frustratingly indecisive stands in the balance. Time lost getting FDB, who from his interviews was clearly keen at a much earlier stage to come to Palace, translates into time lost competing for transfer signatures.
But has Parish actually saved millions by leaving things late? The manager and players and staff we need were not be paid when we didn't have them. Now I'm reading (fake?) news about CPFC interest in Sahko, and other players of his quality and cost. If Parish, by playing his cards late, manages to gain us the quality personnel we need, then he needs to be applauded, and posters like me who have previously criticised him need to eat humble pie.

But we'll see what runs onto that pitch come August, and how they play. Personally I'm confident that I'll be eating humble pie.

If you don't know the measure of the board by now you never will.

Dougie to De Boar in a few years and still in the Prem..

Here's hoping you can't talk or type with your mouth full.

Injury free and fully fit, our first 11 could get us into mid table without additions.

However, injury to any three out of Luka, Wilf, Dann, Tomkins, Cabaye or Benteke could see us bottom. So I'm unconvinced it's the team that walks out that matters -- maybe it's the team that doesnt.

I'm not saying the first team doesn't need strengthening -- it does -- but probably cover for certain positions matters more.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

So During his time Steve has

Saved the club from going bust
Played hardball
Brought back the ground
Played hardball
seen the club win promotion
Sustain Promotion
Got Wilf back for a fxxking song!
Bring in Players who are a cut above
Played hardball against Pulis and all comers
His track record in his business suggests he's good at business
I have no concerns that Steve Parish will do what he thinks is best for his and our club
