How come this is only limited to 20? I've got one with work and we have about 40 people in it last season

I think it's only applicable to Head 2 Head leagues as they need everyone to play each other twice.

There's no limits on the standard leagues.

James is correct. The limit only applies to head-to-head leagues like this one, as it follows a round robin format where each fantasy team plays against another every week throughout the season. The limit of 20 teams is also the highest one the Premier League website will allow for any of its head-to-head leagues, and is of course the same number of teams as in the Premier League itself.

I'm sorry you missed out this year, Steven, and hope you'll be able to join up next season instead. In the meantime, you might like to try rednblueblood's league, mentioned earlier in this thread, using the code 752225-180423 (I'm not sure if this is a head-to-head league or not) or the cross-forum classic league set up by a group of Everton fans, which they have kindly invited us to take part in, with the code 103895-27516.

Hope that's of some help to you and you can find something soon!

While the Premier League officially drew to a close yesterday, you will have had to have been living on Mars not to have known that it was really over as a contest about a month ago and that it had in fact been quite clear for most of the season that there was only going to be one winner.

And in this season's Holmesdaleship Fantasy Premier League, life appears to have imitated art as Sassicaia Rovers had the title sewn up back in April after building up an unassailable lead with four gameweeks still left to play. They wrapped up a total mancityisation of the season with a stunning 69-61 victory over I Bet I Win to finish top of the table with a superb record of 28 wins, 1 draw and 9 defeats for a magnificent total of 85 points, 16 clear of second place.

Add to that a whopping 2,350 gameweek points total amassed throughout the season and it has been a hugely satisfying campaign for Rovers, setting records for wins, points and total gameweek points scored (granted, the records have only been kept for a year so far but they are new records nonetheless!). A richly deserved league win!

Credit should also be given to six other teams in the league - Hairy Chinese Kids, Shona Dogs XI, Marauding Meercats, Crystal Palastine, Resurgence and Dunstable Eagles - all of whom joined Sassicaia Rovers in breaking the 2,000 gameweek points barrier this season. Well done to all of you for your astute signings and excellent results throughout the year!

Also noteworthy is the performance of Schadenfreude XV who, as their name suggests, consistently selected teams of no-hopers and non-playing players in a bid to secure a wooden spoon with a record low score, frequently scoring 0 points in many gameweeks. In spite of this, the German outfit still managed to win four matches, only two fewer than West Bromwich Albion, whose players were being paid tens of thousands of pounds each week to try their best not to lose. Not sure if that counts as a successful season for Schadenfreude XV or not, but well done anyway!

Everyone loves a good fantasy league team name, and we had some cracking ones again this year. Hairy Chinese Kids, De Boer of Averages and Puncheon Judy were among my personal favourites, but everyone's name either had a hint of intrigue, raised a smile, or both.

I would like to give a massive thank you to everyone who accepted the challenge of the Holmesdaleship this season. It wouldn't have been any fun without you all, so the time you were all willing to spare to make the league a success is very much appreciated. I hope you all liked taking part, particularly if it was for the first time, and enjoyed the head-to-head format. Please feel free to join up again next time, if you are able to, when places become available prior to the 2018/19 season.

Congratulations once again to the winner of the Holmesdaleship 2017/18, Sassicaia Rovers! Very well played indeed!
