Big soccer fan traveling from the US for the Palace opener and curious about best seats to enjoy the game.

I already have a Silver membership purchased and the following are available:

- Arthur Wait V / 17 / 131,132 (one partial restrict.)
- AW U / 30 / 84-85 (one partial restrict.)
- AW U / 47 / 84-85 & 100-104
- AW Y / 46 / 220-227
- AW Z / 44-47 / 235-242

Traveling with my wife (she can handle cursing + crazy fans) and looking for the best possible atmosphere (made the mistake of going to Emirates last season...) with a view that isn't completely obstructed (ie. would prefer singing/standing section with a corner flag blocked over a perfect view of the pitch where the guy is asleep next to me).

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

You wouldn't wanna go to far back into the Arthur as the television gantry hangs over it, which can lead to some restricted views. And it's not just Palace fans, all away fans say is that they can't see a damn thing. I would recommend sitting as far forward as possible but if it's sunny, which it probably will be, you may be blinded by the Great British 'sunshine'. My advice is, if you want to stand up the whole game, go to Z. But if you want to sit down, and not have some geezer's arse in your face, go to U or Y. By the way, what part of the US are you from?

Thanks for the advice! So how far back in the Arthur is too far? Rows 40+? Or just the back rows on the Palace site already showing as restricted (rows 47+)? And just how big are these pillars in sections U/V that would be restricting one of the seats? I'm 6'3" so more likely to block someone else's view than get blocked.

*just looked and some of the seats are already gone so gotta pull the trigger quickly!

I'm from Atlanta, GA and again, really appreciate the help (& looking forward to cheering on CP).

Anything past Row 30 is restricted slightly, and I've sat in the Arthur for almost 35 years now. I'm in the same boat as you, I'm 6'5", if you just make sure you don't sit in front of a kid you'll be alright. My sister lives in Johns Creek, so we visit Atlanta occasionally. Hope you get the tickets!

Very small world, I'm in Buckhead so Johns Creek is a just a short drive away. Obviously not the same quality you'd be used to but have been pretty impressed with our new MLS team for stadium atmosphere and attacking style of play, recommend you check them out if you get a chance next time you're on this side of the pond.

Tickets purchased in Arthur W so looking for a great opener, thanks again for your advice or I definitely would have ended up in rows 30+!
