Tomkins should be able to play well at right CB

IMO cannot start Wilf and Andros if we are playing 3 at the back. Henderson exposed us today and last year we got caught out to many times by balls knocked into space behind where full backs should be. Neither Wilf or Andros are good enough yet to do the defensive and attacking role. I would start Wilf or Andros but not both. Pack out the midfield with two defensive midfielders sitting in front of the three if that's the way Frank wishes to go. We will get hurt time and time again if we don't plug the holes and stop the diagonal balls down the flank.

In my view dann and Tomkins can't play together both good defenders but too similar.

Andy Johnson Magic, He wears a Magic Hat
When he Sees the match ball, he says he having that
He scores one with left foot, he scores one with his right
And When his playing Brighton, He scores all f***ING Night!

The spine is the issue for me, Chelsea have Matic and Kante, Milivojevic can do a job there but it's not a system that will get the best out of Cabaye or Puncheon IMO. Last year we saw the best of Cabaye under Allardyce as the right-sided central midfielder. The RCB and LCB need to be comfortable when they're dragged out wide and the CB needs to cover well and generally not get sucked in too high trying to win the ball.

It seems FdB wants a system that he think's will get the best out of Zaha but for me at the moment we don't have at least 4 other players needed to play a 3-4-3 effectively. Need a LCB, RCB, CDM, RWB imo.

Townsend probably looks the weak link but going forward it's double trouble.

I'm thinking the same

I agree, hopefully BFS will come out of retirement. Cheap youngsters are not going to keep us in the prem. Palace - Total football - Why ? not convinced .

The cheap youngsters are probably all now worth a lot more from that exposure. All teams blood players in friendlies and it's good to see that we are to.

Almost certain no one has said this squad / team will be our starting team come August.

Crazy that some of our fans didn't like seeing our youth having a run out against proper opposition.

I hope we mix between 343 and 433. Could have a great team.

If this is the formation we go for then this team could cause damage subject to transfers going through.

Cillessen
Tomkins Dann Martins-Indi
Van der Wiel Milivojevic Cabaye Van Aanholt
Townsend Benteke Zaha

However my preference would be the standard 4231

Cillessen
Van der Wiel Dann Martins-Indi Van Aanholt
Milivojevic Cabaye
Zaha Loftus-Cheek Townsend
Benteke

Yep. My thoughts entirely. Just don't see that system working without more significant changes to the squad than those mooted.

I think 3-5-2 would work better than the 3-4-3

Gk (new)
New Rcb
Cb Tomkins/dann
New lcb
New rwb
Lwb schlupp /PVA
Cm- Luka
Cm- Cabaye
Cm- loftus-cheek
Rs- Benteke
Ls- Zaha

Thoughts?

Hate to say it but I think this is a big mistake. I really want FDB to prove me wrong and be successful but I just can't see how 3-4-3 would work with our current squad. Feels very Martinez at Wigan.
