I think that had we stay with a 433 or 4141, then we would need 3 to 4 players for instance - gk, rb, cb, st. I feel with the change in style that we may require up to 7 players. Gk, rwb, cb x2, cm, ST, RF

Dan I've said in the past these formations are fluid as a game progresses.

From what I saw the other day we went on the back foot early.

So it was 451.

Frank needs to set us up to use Zaha and Townsend more.

And the team need to improve on Ball retention.

I agree, just feel that changing the system requires more players, than just adding to what big Sam left behind.

Same thing every summer. Those raising concerns we haven't done enough or anything in the transfer market get shouted down. Gradually as time goes on we get more people rightly concerned until we sign a couple or so, but never close to what we need. Everyone else deludes themselves we've had a great window because one particular player is the answer to everything (Benteke) but we sit on £30 mil unspent net transfer money.

I understand getting the best deal by leaving it late, or not replacing released players at all, but there are needs to sign players before we've dropped points in the first few games and end up again as a bottom 4 struggler. Last summer I gave a 7/10 while others couldn't accept this claimed it was an amazing window. Well it didn't take long to find out it wasn't, with 9 points vs the worst teams at the time and Ledley in the team in between. Just shows how sh1t they were and how badly prepared in enough areas we were. Hopefully there's no repeat of that.

I agree, although I'm lost on what an RF is.

Keshi did himself no harm Wednesday but I can tell Frank he is a striker.

I agree, but we need a natural in that position, would love someone like redmond or demari gray but that's unlikely

Well I said in previous thread , if Frank want to play football and compete in the Premier , the transfer budget would have to be around 100 million.
We are not going to spend that.
A good manager has to play to the strengths of what he has available.
It is early days , we will have to see who we get and how Frank adapt how he wishes to play to how we can play. Let's hope he finds out all he needs to know in these friendlies in Hong Kong.

Dream on, we ain't going to be signing 4-7 players. We have employed a manager to improve the current players and maybe 2 signings.
Why is everyone so hung up up about getting new signings, unless they are significantly better than we have, what's the point. Satisfying supporters that believe the crap about players coming is not the plan. Many people are buying all this transfer frenzy stoked up by dodgy websites, it's laughable.

He's made a valid point that if we did change the system we would need 7 players, not that we should. Step back and read before arguing.

That is exactly it, in a nutshell.
