"

A big fishing expedition on all fronts, or rather an attempt to use trade, or in Ukraines case vast security aid, to entirely 'conjure' something up that can be used in the 2020 election. Possibly a waste of time though, as I expect Warren to be the nominee anyway. I think Bernie is the most deserving nominee with broader appeal, but the heart attack won't help.

The fish who is the primary target seems intent on jumping on the boat and gutting himself at the moment. Investigations are hardly needed when Trump openly does what he is accused of doing, on camera for all to hear and see.

It seems to me he wants to be impeached and then cleared by the Senate as a means of legitimising his behaviour as this will play well with his base for 2020. Being able to keep the "it's all a witch hunt" claims on the burner and able to attack the attackers is classic Trump strategy designed to shift the focus away from him.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

There was a post earlier which said if he is impeached and put on the stand,it would be open season for everyone to be put on the stand. He maybe having a lemming moment. A few points to prove about others. If it goes south for him then the 'enemy' will be going as well.

However this is really all about Trump. He is the President. He has behaved in a way which looks likely to lead to his impeachment. Not in the final analysis no, but when the poll of polls shows an almost flat line of disapproval being higher than approval by 10 points for many months it indicates something. I cannot see too many changing their minds either but if any do it would probably be away from him. Nationwide polls don't tell the whole story of course in their electoral college system but even in that the keys states look very dodgy to me.
