An interesting watch.

[Link]

Yes it’s a bunch of liberals on MSNBC but they touch on some interesting issues, including - does anyone really care about trump’s taxes, which leads to an interesting discussion.

He really doesn’t want those taxes getting out there.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Well, we have the similar disease of getting annoyed about things of which we have no control. They are just on different topics.

I don't do the moral point scoring that you do. I'm not saying that it doesn't matter at all but for me.....It's of secondary value.

I've heard Christopher Hitchens talk about the Clintons a lot and he disliked them, even writing a book about it.....but while I thought Clinton made really bad decisions in government on foreign policy and affirmative action programmes I regarded his presidency as relatively good economically.

When it comes to the Trump effort so far.....I have to say, he's been doing better than I expected.

I definitely understand the argument regarding personal conduct and behavior being secondary to presidential performance, and not being related, but I do disagree there.

Honestly this is the biggest difference between trump fans and trump detractors. To many here his conduct is simply reprehensible and they are terribly embarrassed to be represented by such a man. That’s before we even get to policy. Far more though, of course, delight in his unconventional and bizarre ways.

I have the feeling that history will not look kindly upon Trump, but that is just an opinion.

One thing about him is he doesn’t know how to take a win, he finally gets a positive outcome on the Mueller report and blows it the next day by going after Obamacare. He is impulsive and just cannot help himself, which is a strength in some ways but a weakness also.

Regarding his performance so far, I think some people thought the world would implode when he took office, which it hasn’t.

He is dangerous though, and sets a bad example of leadership on the most divisive issues. The potus has to not just appease and appeal to his base, he needs to bring disparate groups together, but he just cannot do that.

I suspect most people agree with you to some extent but the problem with Trump is that it’s his crassness and difference that appeal on some level to voters. Politicians are now so coached and practiced that they seem like interchangeable constructs. In The Thick of It they were referred to as brushed aluminium cyberpricks. Trump is different which gives him a maverick appeal and the more he’s attacked the more it grows. He’s a bit like a shock jock in that while some people actually like them more listen on a “can’t believe he said that” basis.
Another aspect is just how much he enrages the Hollywood set. All their wailing and gnashing of teeth has no effect on his popularity because a lot of people are tired of being told what to think and voting for him was their reaction.
To use a suitably crass analogy it’s probably best to think of him as being like Leivester winning the league; a strange blip before normality returns.

I am starting to think you don’t really follow enough of the news and events in the USA, to be truly informed about what happens here in my home country.

I do.

I don’t think it is a fact that Clinton sexually assaulted multiple women while president, that is a wild accusation that you cannot back up.

Ironic you spoke of character assassiniations as you really have a hard on for bubba don’t you.

It is pretty boring having a back and forth with you. I enjoy debating the other guys who post here, but not really with you, so I probably won’t bother in the future. FYI on that one.

So you live in the US and I don't, therefore my opinion counts for nothing. What a ridiculous statement. Have you heard of the internet? So if that's the case, why do you think you can comment with any credibility on the Brexit thread?

The posts you have made on this thread show your utter butt hurt for Hilary losing over two years ago. Trump is doing a good job and it hurts.

You cannot hit me back with any counter-arguments over facts, so you are taking your ball home with you. Sad.

Personally i've never looked at anyone that i don't know/never met as my ''representative''.

That’s before we even get to policy. Far more though, of course, delight in his unconventional and bizarre ways.

I think it may do.

The medical 'plan' which has cost many dearly?

He is impulsive and just cannot help himself, which is a strength in some ways but a weakness also.

Ah, i remember that we would all be blown to smitherines when he spoke to N Korea.
How many 'wars' did Obama stop during his reign? How many bombs did Obama drop during his presidency?....mucho mucho mucho.

The potus has to not just appease and appeal to his base, he needs to bring disparate groups together, but he just cannot do that.

Possibly due to the fact that for many years now the Liberalista have been wrongly ruling the roost? They've screwed up.

Anyone interested in learning more about the great Trump tax fiasco, see here:

[Link]

It is apparently a simple matter of law, but given this is America it will likely be years in the system and end up in the Supreme court.

I do so wonder what it is in Trump's tax returns that he so desperately wants to keep a secret. Smells a bit fishy, eh.

If your finances/taxes are above board, why refuse to release them exactly?

That doesnt do much to show his detractors that he is not a crook.

As I thought.

You are just another sore loser liberal who wants to stamp his feet and throw his toys around because Hillary lost.

You think Trump is dirty.

Can he be any lower than the level that your side is prepared to stoop to?

No president can do that in today's America.

Disparate groups are disparate precisely because there are differences between them. Bridges are only out of self interest and always temporary on large scales.

I am often mystified why he doesn't allow this. That said I'd also like to see Nancy Pelosi's tax returns as well, someone who's earning approx 200K a year & is worth in the region of 150/200 M has to be a shady scumbag as well.

Sat through the whole thing then, Hrolf?

Let’s see his taxes if he’s not dirty. I do indeed believe he is as bent as a 9 bob note.

I was no huge fan if Hillary but compared to Trump I would take pretty much anyone.

What is your opinion on why he is the first president since Nixon to not show his tax returns?

Is there any legal requirement for him to show them?
