That though is largely because everyone was ill informed in 2016. Stupid though, I will grant you, belongs pretty much exclusively within the ranks of the leavers.

Having spent a couple of months in the USA since Trump became POTUS, and another 2 months in the Philippines where I know many ex pat Americans, I have had quite a few face to face discussions with Trump supporters. The similarity of approach, attitude, lack of compassion, lack of political sophistication and general ignorance between them and the average Brexiteer to be found in the pub is very striking. Not every Brexiteer of course. Some have well reasoned arguments and a genuine belief that the UK will be better outside the EU. You cannot though offer any excuses to the Trump base. I am always amazed at just how unworldly some of these people are, yet totally convinced that they are always right. These are very strange times.

You will continue to be 'always amazed' because you are completely deluded.

You stated on here that there was collusion and that Trump would be thrown out of office. You are directly proven wrong and yet you just carry on with your delusions as if nothing happened.

Brexit parties are going to win big in the upcoming EU parliament elections but you on here just think people are stupid and ill informed are literally years after years of living under the EU hegemony and propaganda during the campaigns......The majority of it coming from 'remain'.

Sorry to tell you but I believe it is you, and those who think like you who are deluded.

I have most definitely NOT been directly proved wrong. That Trump and Barr spin the Mueller report to suit a particular narrative doesn't make it so. There is a great deal there which is full of traps for Trump and opportunities for further investigations.

Collusion was never going to be found as it seems that term is not a crime, whilst co-operating with and encouraging foreign interference is. Mueller seems to have been very smart and inoculated his enquiry against Barr curtailing it by handing off certain aspects to other jurisdictions whilst having a number of ongoing enquiries still open himself. The most notable of which seems likely to be into Wikileaks, Assange and whether anyone in the Trump campaign assisted or encouraged them. You must recall Trump himself asking Russia to "find the emails". It could hardly be more obvious could it?

No, there is a huge way to go yet. Trump's big smile is just bravado to boost his base. If you cannot see that then you are proving my delusion theory.

The Euro elections are likely to prove uncomfortable for both the Tories and Labour. How a fight between UKIP and Farage will work out is as yet unknown but much as I dislike Farage he has to be preferable to any party prepared to tolerate the likes of "Tommy Robinson" in their ranks. How the "Remain and People's vote" groupings work themselves out is also unknown, as is whether those who think like that will take the election seriously. Turnout is difficult to predict but that the result won't mean very much isn't. There will doubtless be a lot of noise, especially from Farage, but it won't be the MEP's taking the actual decisions will it?

Nevertheless I will certainly be voting and encouraging everyone else I know to do so. Once I know who will be the strongest "Remain" candidate locally, which will likely be the Liberals given where I live, then I will be out supporting them.

These elections will just be a distraction, about which all kinds of baseless claims will doubtless again be made. Nevertheless we must make sure those claims are countered and the truth be told.

Robinson isn't even in Ukip, you can't even get that right Wisbech.

Good luck with the liberals.

Not yet maybe but as the serving high profile "political adviser" to the leader he already has a role and it would be very tempting to try to get him to Brussels wouldn't it? Let's see, but I wouldn't bet against it.

I will support who-ever it is decided to stand locally as the pro-Remain candidate as I feel sure that there will be arrangements made not to split the vote and ensure a fair spread of representation.

You really are a legend in your own mind.

As with many on your side, you suffer from a superiority complex which blinds you to your own prejudice and lack of foresight.

A handful of that type post on these boards and you make great entertainment for the genuinely superior.

Please don't stop.

Robinson won't be standing for Ukip, rules are rules.

As for the split vote possibility it will be interesting and I to would prefer arrangements. On the leave side I wouldn't be so certain that they won't fight each other.....the left and right are no different when it comes to infighting.

There are a few days left to submit nominations and from what I read UKIP are trying to find ways to make him a member. You seem though to know more about this so perhaps you are on the inside! In any case there would be nothing to stop him standing as an independent who takes the UKIP whip and against whom UKIP don't field a candidate but offer instead their support. It could get messy.

I am a Ukip member. This situation has been clearly stated by Batten to the media many times now but perhaps the media sources you use just aren't interested in telling you reality.

The rules state that those that joined the BNP or some other groups can't join Ukip. Robinson briefly joined the BNP a few decades back. So Robinson's relationship to Ukip is as an unpaid adviser to Batten. He isn't in the party.

To join Ukip he would have to wait until the leadership elections and then if that leader wished it he could join if the party had an internal vote and treated him as an exception. All this is unlikely. Support for Robinson in Ukip is around fifty fifty I'd say. The older crowd are less enthusiastic than the younger.

As for the elections Robinson isn't interested in standing he's involved in carving out a media role for himself after receiving financial backing. I'm not going to go into what he's up to but it will be interesting and it isn't anything to do with political parties.

That explains quite a lot! It's good news though that Robinson won't achieve any kind of official status as I for one would feel very ashamed if someone like him was chosen to represent my country at any level. Having his own "media role", TV or YouTube channel, is fine. Those who admire him will no doubt enjoy his platform and promote it as the source of real news, whilst everything else is fake in true Trumpian style, but the rest of us can add it to the list of outlets to be disregarded or ridiculed, like Breitbart and InfoWars.

I just have to laugh.

That is bang on.

Not all of them, but a hell of a lot of them. Back to Donald Dump:

Trump was not exonerated for obstruction, on the contrary he was implicated but mueller said it would be unfair to charge him AND DOJ rules indicate you cannot indict a sitting president.

He has basically laid out a road map to congress to impeach on multiple counts of obstruction. He included the corrupt motivation, the so called “I’m f***ed” line.

The corrupt sycophant invertebrates like Mitch McConnell will never vote to remove trump from office though so the dems won’t impeach unless the base turns, which probably wouldn’t happen even if the commander in cheat gunned someone down at fifth and lex.

It is up to suburban housewives and moderate republicans to remove Donny Dump next year.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Wow you are Hreally on form here.

Pot and kettle springs to mind. You appear to be highly prejudiced yourself.

So you accuse wisbech and “the left” as you like to call it of having a superiority complex, and in the same post you claim you are superior.

Priceless.
