I don't think his previous tweets indicate he considers Khan irrelevant. It seems to me his view is that our Mayor is the Devil in disguise. Khan is a disgrace to his office. He should be chucked out of his job immediately.

She asked Trump about Corbyn, then asked May about Khan "Do you believe he is a stone cold loser". Trump then asked Rigby "you are talking about the mayor?" which shows someone who is not mentally sharp, and got confused about who was getting which question.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

I have had a series of difficult issues to deal with in the last few days which has had the knock on beneficial effect of enabling me to ignore the Trump visit almost totally. Having just taken a 30 min break I caught up on the news and read his Tweets and the replies to the more controversial ones. It amused me to see him claiming that there are " Tremendous crowds of well wishers" which were followed by pictures of the Mall with his convoy passing and almost no-one behind the crush barriers. No doubt all of this will be lapped up by his base back home like the lap dogs they are. However I wonder how this is all going down with the Trump fans here? Are you all impressed by this visit or embarrassed by it, and if so revising your view of him? In the USA those who are resisting Trump and all he represents have pretty much given up trying to engage with his base, as no amount of reason, nor any amount of misdeeds in open view, seem to cause them any pause for thought. Trump never spoke a truer word (and he doesn't say many) when he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and his base would still support him. The resistance have decided that the best way to deal with Trump is to vote him out. I suspect the same is true here. There has always been a segment of British society who thought the likes of Enoch Powell was a great man and now support people like Farage and Trump. It's only recently though that they have been invigorated by having someone like Trump in the WH and Brexit becoming such an issue, which has temporarily dragged some neutrals to their cause. Trying to convince the bulk of the posters here that any bias against Trump is thoroughly justified is a complete waste of time. Fortunately this place is very untypical of the UK as a whole and I take comfort from that.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

You think he doesn't have to deal with nasty people? You really live in a delusion. This is one reason why I object to the 'fall of London'. It's leader no longer represents British interests.

I realise that snarky remarks are par for your course but I asked what the Trump fans thought of his performance so far on this trip. No need to comment on him attacking Corbyn and Khan. I know you would approve of that. Nor the meaningless scripted platitudes. It's the other stuff, like putting the NHS into a trade deal, which interests me. As I was suggesting the other day that his "offer" of a trade deal would turn out to be something which was heavily weighted in what he saw as the USA's favour and would turn out to be just snake oil, I wondered what others thought and if anyone has started to see through him yet.
