You make a good point. Once Brexit is decided IF we impose strict immigration limits instead of an open door policy I think it will benefit everyone really, and will offer a period of stability.

My concern is that the government has its cheap labour numbers in mind and will attempt to achieve those numbers come what may. Already as EU numbers drop, due to fears of not being able to stay here, that number is being replaced by non EU. Will they always find a way to keep that show in the road?

At least outside of the EU that's one less layer of the onion to peel away though.

I would wager that almost every administration is a form of semi organised chaos behind the scenes. Maybe this one more than most due to Trumps style, but I bet they're all varying degrees of winging it or just doing what their corporate paymasters dictate.
