Okay, the REAL world then.
Ivory Towers and all that.

The Qataris are c***s. They can piss away almost €500million on that egotistical lump of hair gel Neymar, but they can't seem to spare anything to provide basic living conditions that are above the poverty line for the, let's not beat about the bush, slaves they're using to create their World Cup extravaganza?

If clubs are willing to pay it then it won't stop. This and giving Qatar the World Cup shows how corrupt football is.
Instead of relying on overseas imports who really don't give a damn about important completions to fans such as the FA Cup, why don't we look at and develop talent in this country? The Kane's vardys rashffords and Zahas are out there. Are clubs too lazy to go out and find them? Then you wouldn't pay these stupid transfer fees and if the player decides he no longer has his heart in the club that developed him, he can sod off and we make a profit.

Guys, all fans who watch Sky, or go to games are fuelling this flow of football funds. QIA are obviously using football to strengthen their global position. They own Al Jazeira tv, Man City PSG and now have the world cup.
I don't want to get too alarmist, but you will see these guys must seriously see football as an area to spread their message whatever that may be.
They are growing enormously now. They must have a bigger agenda.

As they say......money talks.

The problem is that there are not enough Kane's around to create the talent for 20 premier league teams that could actually compete globally. You would have maybe two or three teams who would play amongst themselves for everything (think Scotland). I may be wrong in this but a head count of English premier league first team players might support this (if I get really bored I might count them up).

I understand that PSG will also have to sell in order to stay within FFP rules.

That may be so but I don't think that "clueless" is the right epithet as Qatar Sports Investments are anything but clueless and spending even that amount of money on Neymar makes financial sense for them with the upcoming World Cup being held in Qatar

That may be so but where does this type of spending leave the rest of us ? We were thinking that £10m is currently the starting price for a half-decent player but you can probably double that now (let alone the expectation over wages). We were fortunate to get to the Premier League five years ago but where would be today had that not been the case ? The gap between the Premier and the rest will get wider with an adverse effect on the Lower Leagues where clubs and their supporters will give up on aspiring to ever reach the PL dream.

I have a T shirt, Love the game, hate the business. Am I fooling myself.....?

Will be traveling for the Huddersfield game though ....

No. Personally I wasn't happy when we offered that much for him especially as I thought he wasn't worth that much, but in all fairness we did get around £28 mil to spend from selling Yannick.

But football has actually gone mad. Like you said it's now a business, it's not a sport for the fans anymore. These days if a team has a load of cash, they will probably get the best players which is bullsh*t. Almost £200 million for a f*cking football player is a joke, there are people in this world that go without food or water, there are people in this world that have had their homes wrecked by natural disasters, there are people in this world who suffer from life threatening diseases who could benefit from financial aid, there are people in this world who are crying out for help but people still spend life changing amounts on money not on help but for a f*cking footballer.

You are right Shifty, but what is going to happen to change it.
Some of the top level of funding that is buying players for huge sums is also funding mass misery in certain parts of the world.
The world is far from stable and the imbalances from rich to poor are growing. Football is a very good yard stick to evidence this.
My opinion is that the big money causing these high transfers has got a good way to go yet and £200M or £400M for them would be the same difference to you or me as £20 0r £40 or less!!
FFP and all its good intentions is a complete joke which anyway is overcome with more money (fines).
Personally I watch it unsurprised. Do I think its healthy? No.
Is it going to increase? Definitely. TV (which the big money controls) will keep tipping more money into the clubs to overcome FFP. So the owners of some cable networks who also own the clubs will continue to manipulate sport for their own end game that goes way beyond sport.
Not good. Not good at all.

.....and I also hope that Neymar's advisors make sure he has a much bigger ring of security around him than current.

It wont happen but my hoped master plan is this;

1) PSG buy Neymar
2) Barca buy Couthino (sp) from the bin dippers for a vastly enhanced £120 mill
3) they also buy Hazard for a similar sum.
4) the Neymar transfer is ruled illegal and he has to go back to barca
5) chelsea and the bindippers sit laughing at Barca as they are now ruined.

substitute 4 onwards for;

4) the Qataris spend all this money to then see the world cup taken away from them on fraud grounds.
