Assuming your asking for example of buy back deals..

Man City are trying to sell Iheanacho and have a buy back clause.

Morata was sold buy Real Madrid to Inter Milan and they had a €20m buy back clause. Brought him back and sold him for £60m to United.

Everton bought a player from Barca they inserted a buy back clause and then bought him back and I think are selling him on.

It's not even that these clubs want the player back. Sometimes they do but also sometimes they just want the buying club to finish the player before they take them back and turn a bigger profit.

If that's not using smaller clubs as proxy feeder clubs I don't know what is.

If a club is desperate enough to sign a deal on that basis, well its up to them. Football has a lot of desperate Chairmen, without enough money!

Yeah but that's my point, if they're allowed to buy unlimited amounts of academy players then surely this forces some clubs to go back to them as they aren't able to nurture those players in the first place.

Its all very well saying you don't have to deal win them, but if the buy a zillion teenagers then you have no choice.

It's not cricket.

These clauses work out OK if you have a decent disguise artist and an acting coach in the backroom team. Stick a false tache on Mutch and shove him in a taxi. Problem Solved.

Their players will always have a value, like how did Chelsea get 6m for bamford after not even featuring for the club.

If Wilf gets sold we pay united a sell on fee which is completely different to a buy back clause.

Unless I've missed your point?

A buyback clause, is a clause inserted into a player contract that would mean the selling club would have first refusal at a nominated price.

Another idea would be that the FA say that if you insert a buy back clause it has to be for at least double the original transfer price.

So the more the selling club asks up front potentially, the more they pay down the line.

Way fairer than the current system so no chance of it happening!

What happens if the said player allows his contract to expire, making him a free agent? Does the buy back expire with the contract, or is he forever held to ransom by the original club?
Surely not in the spirit of the Bosman!

In the circumstances that you describe the buy back would expire as the contract is between selling and buying club.

However, I wouldn't put it past the selling club to sign a separate contract with the player to re-acquire him in those circumstances but I'm guessing that the Unfair Contracts laws could come into effect

Really? If you support a big club you mean.

The whole thing is being manipulated by big clubs and their greed.
