I think the thred has been deleted, a bit late after the fact.
GT clearly took one of the posts out of context, however there were some extremely offensive posts that he read out that clearly were not.
One of them regarding a fence around the family stand was particularly vile and you could read the poster in questions name despite the BBC best effort to blur it out!
Im sure some people used to justify racism and racist chants in a similar way as 'just a bit of banter'.

Our only option is now to really go Gay friendly if we want to avoid being vilified.

I personally don't mind that, albeit I find the constant badgering from the LGBTA lobby pretty tedious. In fact I would welcome it, really reach out the hand of kindness to whoever.

Maybe back to my thread from two years ago about wouldn't it be cool to have the first openly Gay Premier League player. The daft thing is I genuinely believe we would be in a better position to deal with that than pretty much any other club.

I then started a thread to see if anyone else had received it, and it appears lots started to...almost all of whom hadnt posted anything homophobic to start with.

Consequently it was clear from the start that they were going to use the forum as an example; but we all knew (and posted as such) that it would be effectively a stitch up...without promoting a balanced view...which very much seems to be the case.

It's a shame as I said earlier, as rather than promote the cause it in fact demeans it...certainly from the perspective of the fanbase they're tarring.

On the otherhand its clear that it's ok to use us as collateral damage if it highlights the issue nationwide..again; hypocrisy of the highest order in my view.

Typical Journo stuff. Expect to be misquoted in this type of investigative reporting. They started with an agenda that they wish prove and sensationalise.

We can't deny that we have the odd homophobe, with a fan base as big as ours it is just statistics, but satire, taking the piss and badly worded posts would always have been taken out of context was / is easy meat to this type of lowest denominator TV.

Isn't it ironic that the very people so vehemently opposed against victimization are the worst offenders?
