As a people we have a right have homophobic or racist opinions and if we express them in general public we have to understand that everybody else has the same right to dislike us or disown us if they have a different opinion.

Having said that, I've been reminded this forum has rules that make the expression of those views unacceptable within this environment. I don't disagree with those rules either.

But my point is, we can't force anybody to give up their opinions on anything however big or small, we can just govern their expression of those opinions appropriately for the forum/environment they are in and in accordance with the rules or laws they've signed up to for that respective environment.

I actually watched the programme and there was very little on it about us, to be honest. The FA and the Premier League came out far worse than us in Thomas's eyes, as did the PFA and Gordon Taylor's sidekick. At least we gave hm a response (although he called the posters cowards for not turning up at the pub meeting that he offered everyone on here (apparently), although I don't remember that happening in a public way. The head of the Premier League didn't take or return a call from him over 16 weeks.

Personally, I think it was a pointless programme, but I actually got offended myself when Justin Fashanu's niece, who made a similar programme 5 years ago, said that supporters of sports such as rugby and badminton (yes, I swear she said badminton), didn't resort to homophobic chants because they were "more intelligent" than football supporters.

In fact, I think I may do a programme about the demonisation of football fans by those who aren't one.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

That's all far enough but has nothing to do with my post.

Mezzer is right though if you check the BBC this programme has hardly been pushed, and aired in Wales where I expect more people tuned in for Alfie than the content.

I found that offensive. I gave up alcohol 14 years ago after a friend of mine (who happened to be gay) was going through a very difficult time in and out of rehab for alcohol addiction. I don't know why he didn't research that and invite me to a cafe or burger van as an appropriate alternative.

No you're right, I started off thinking what I was saying was in some way related but went off at a tangent. I'll edit my post to not quote you on that basis.

I'd order an ethical bean burger with misery fries, don't worry.

Isn't it ironic that the very people so vehemently opposed against victimization are the worst offenders? The holmesdale.net is hardly a bastion of political influence, yet these thugs come on here, not as supporters of CPFC or PL football, but as politically driven gay activists instilling fear and intimidation. They are 'C-U-N-T-S'.

I would have thought that after your disgraceful comments on that thread you'd be keeping a low profile.

No shame.

I hope Dean Gerken is feeling okay, you remember when we told him he should stay in a burger.

Nice of you to make an appearance after all this time

Have you actually read the thread??

Hi! Hope you are well?

I've been working in Berlin and Paris for the past few months so I've only dipped in and out of the forum when I've had time.

No, I didn't read the whole thread, but I did read some disturbing comments. Some of the posters sound like they need help.....

I'm tough. I'm ambitious. I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, I'm OK with that.

By the looks of it the abusive posts that they used in the documentary were from one person. Another was anti BBC/ anti political correctness and personally abusive towards GT. He uses a few from the thread started by Palace and Proud but reads too much into what people say. I don't know how or why he thought he'd get people to meet him tbh, I think some people would have wanted to engage if they felt it was a level playing field but it quite clearly wasn't. The bit on Palace in particular seems incredibly rushed.
