I never understand the hard to get to argument. London bridge direct to Norwood junction... Or any London station to east Croydon then a taxi or a bus.. There's the overground now too

Yes there is no underground tube aside from the west Croydon overground but that applies to most of south London...

Many backstreets nearby for parking.

I've never seen selhurst as hard to get to...

Having read through the posts here are my thoughts.

Driving to Selhurst is now a pain in the backside, and my son and I now get the Train. Last year we drove and arrived at 12.10 and it then took me a further 20 minutes to find a space. You can guess what it is like at 1.30!

There are Norwood Jcn & Selhurst Stations that are the nearest.
The stadium is now looking shabby and needs a major refit. The Old stand was condemned 15 years ago.

Although the atmosphere is fantastic and the fans are near the pitch, Selhurst has had it's day unless serious money is spent and the infrastructure upgraded?

For those that remember, Palace played Chelsea at Crystal Palace Park in the 70's.

There is already a design for a new stadium away from the athletics one for 40,000. This would also have an Olympic pool to the side.

There are 12/13 Bus Routes that go up to Crystal Palace . Some of these stop at various entrances to the park, so you would not have to go up to where the buses terminate.

Train Stations surround the Park.
Crystal Palace, Anerley, Penge, Sydenham. Gypsy Hill Station is a 10/15 minute walk to the nearest point of the park.

Crowds would disperse quicker than most stadiums due to the many exits around the Park.

You can build a car park, possible underground to hold at least 1000 vehicles. The list goes on.

rub a dub dub who's buying the next round in the Pub?

We park at Ruskin Square car park when we drive and then walk the rest of the way. It's about a 30 minute amble to the ground from there and not stupidly expensive.

Probably the same train as I came down to Hove.

Quite possibly, there's a direct train back down to deepest darkest Sussex from Selhurst on match days.

Quiet possibly, but Parish didn't kick the CPP plans into touch because of the infrastructure or lack of it did he? We all know it's a non-starter for any owner unless they've the stomach, the patience and the funds for a very long and expensive fight that they could in the end lose.

Oh and I think you'll find that the pre-season friendly against Chelsea was actually in 1969 and was one of a number of friendlies we played there in the 1960s in aid of the National Sports Development Fund. The friendly game in 1970 was against Arsenal. I thought I'd get in before Willo did

Driving back after the game we saw the flood lights from the national sports center in the distance. Personally I'd be over the moon if we moved their.

The buzz in Crystal Palace triangle before and after matches and the walk through the park to the stadium, think it'd be a great vibe.

Can't see it happening and Parish has said it's not on the cards.

IF they couldn't do it without making it in to a toilet bowl. I'd love it, plus the park would get x amount to help maintain the park. Should be a win win situation as the current stadium is virtually unused.

But yes by all accounts it'd never get past the nimbys..

British Athletics are very keen to keep it how it is, and also Croydon FC are apparently not moving any time soon.

We used to park in the NCP Whitgift Centre car park, £4 all day, then get the 468 or 75 bus outside.
