Season starts and we are Underprepared Again ?

Only the plus side this time we're not facing Spurs, Arsenal or West Brom, and we've got a manager and a striker who can score goals... Party time! Everyone can improve, however it seems that you think that buying players is easy and that if we don't have a strong enough team for the start of the season then Parish has not been trying to sign players or negotiating over the summer which just isn't the case.

Just like the OP I find it baffling that we are about to start a season in the premier league with 1 fit striker of the correct standard to actually score some goals. If Benteke gets injured tomorrow, what are we going to do then? All this time has passed, and we havent added a striker, its crazy. We needed to shore up the defence for sure but we are absolutely paper thin up top, and the season starts tomorrow. Fingers and toes crossed for no Benteke injury, and if he doesnt get hurt, Parish will just about get away with this bizarre lack of ability to sign a permanent or loan forward to ensure we actually have some cover up front.

Plenty of attacking players in the squad if a crisis hit. Benteke Manage has said he wants to build from the back. We're clearly looking at forwards or at least the rumors are there. Didn't the boss recently say we wasn't looking at someone as he was to similar to Benteke but that we was looking. So I take it that we are looking and want to sign someone, but have prioritised the defence first. What's wrong with that after last season. Blinkered thinking to blame Parish just becuases we haven't, doesn't mean we're not trying. So many fans so quick to dig Parish out. Edited by Goldfiinger (11 Aug 2017 6.18pm)

We have cover but not Benteke standard cover.
